I'm calling it now... I think Sheridan's eventually going to cameo as the billionaire ex-husband.
They made a point to keep the ex-husband off camera and set him up as some extravagent, womanizing showboat. That's why I know.

Because is pushing the limits of Larters acting abilities. Should have grabbed Jennifer Aniston for the part or something. Clearly paramount gives him a blank check for these Bud Light soap operas
The scene where she snaps on Billy Bob about morning pussy and raviolis was the cringiest TV you’ll see this year
The real root cause of all of this is that Sheridan is a film writer, but he is being tasked with writing 15 shows that all could be multiple seasons.
He has good initial ideas that would be entertaining as original 2 hr films, but he has painted himself in a corner by Paramount deals (which he can't turn down due to the immense $$), but he has to stretch those 2 he films into 8-10 hrs of episodic content every year and 40-50 hrs of storyline overall if the show goes that long.
So what you end up with is retirement home strip club storylines and 17 yr old daughters telling her HS boyfriend that she is basically a wannabe pornstar already and some dogshit storyline about the son that no one gives two-fuks about.
If this were just a 2.5 he film like it should be it would be Billy Bob and Ham vs the Cartel or a multi-billion $ oil business in flux with a sprinkle of Ali Larter for 25 mins, which is what she should be doing as an eye-candy supporting role.
Hell, at this point, I'm FF through 1/3 of every episode anyway. Why not just make it a 3-4 hr miniseries.

I’ll tell you one thing. This episode (#9) was by far the worst one of the series so far. Nothing happening. Just terrible.

Looks like Tommy, the guy lawyer, and the other guy will ultimately leave NTex and join the sons oil company after a falling out with the woman lawyer.
The son and the woman lawyer will be in a fight over leases as his company grows and she tries to run NTex.

Love the “atmosphere” of the show, but the show itself isn’t very good…

How soon can they really fast track this storyline without being completely absurd?
I told my wife when his Mexican chick got the million that wasn't the last we heard of that money but a million out there doesn't buy much of anything.

I was actually wondering if he had a script or if they just gave him talking points and let him ramble
Maybe, just maybe, if Angela tries to pull of the strip joint, they’ll get tired of her bullshite and fire her as social director. Doubtful, but one can hope

This has been Sheridan’s worst writing yet. He writes like a high school kid writing letters to Penthouse magazine.
The infantile sexual references CONSTANTLY throughout the show is really getting old. I’m watching now for one reason and one reason only……..Billy Bob. All the other characters are boring as shite except for Billy Bob and John Ham.
The son and the Mexican chick are boring as hell. The mother and daughter doing the nursing home thing is stupid as shite.
The show has become stupid and lame.

Ehh. Not saying you’re wrong, im by no means a scriptwriter and don’t have a fraction of Sheridans money. But you’d think that with a blank check from paramount, a platoon of A-B list actors standing in line for roles in whatever he does, and a who’s who of alt country stars letting him use their music, that his writers could manage to stick to the more compelling elements of the stories. And keep the saccharine bullshite to 10-15 second clips
I just think he plays to way too many demos in every single series. Alpha grrrrls, wanna be cowboys and tough guys, soapy wine moms, with eye candy for everyone. I get that in 2024 that the narrative is that woman have always run the world in some capacity, but step outside the formula and pick a new lane every series and stick to it
Mayor of Kingstown seems to be the outlier where he didn’t inject a bunch of cartoonish patronizing bullshite into it. But hey, I keep watching all of them. So I guys Sheridans still winning lol

With the way it started, I was thinking we’d get a little more focus on the cartel coming after them. Nope.
This show should be pretty simple. BBT just being the Michael Clayton of the Texas oil industry. Just going around fixing problems, dealing with unsavory characters, and making people a lot of money. Dropping fire pearls of wisdom in the process.
Even BBT’s dialog has fallen off from the first few episodes.

I honestly think this is my last straw with Taylor Sheridan. How is every show so formulaic and shallow? Just so much unneeded filler bs and dumb characters. Another promising show turned into a lowbrow soap opera for people who drive out of their way to shop at Bucee's.

Waa this the final episode? The wife cut it on last night and it wasn't near as good as even the squid games cliffhanger.
I did enjoy Billy Bob but and Jon ham and even Jerry Jones but we didn't get enough substance and knowing TS history it won't get any better S2

Jerry Jones
When Demi said "Jerry is in there with him now" had no idea it was gonna be Jerry Jones. Wonder how much of that story was real?
The BF and the daughter.
What do you want? Whispers. I as gonna do that anyway.
Whispers again. I was gonna do that too.
Wonder what the daughter's idea was?
Was watching part of Varsity Blues right before I switched to Landman. Ali Larter has been hot for a long time!
So, Ham dies, now what Demi takes over? Do they then can the lawyer? Without Ham around to support her, does Demi listen to BBT? I guess as the owner, Ham didn't mind her fricking over the employees' families. But, hard to see her and BBT working together after she threatens his son and then he threatens her back.

That blew me away...then again, he's been acting like he knew what he was doing with the Cowboys for the last 2 decades or so. I guess he has a lot of acting practice with that.

The worst storyline in the whole show. It sucks. They spend too much time on it. I'd rather they have a side story with some patch worker.

made the same comment when he was talking. Team hasn't done shite in 25 years yet, he thinks he's done a great job. I guess if you don't expect winning games, he's done a great job.

We keep getting nuggets about how Tommy should’ve been a billionaire if he hadn’t had bad luck in the 80’s. Think Demi taking over eventually forces him to start working for his son and they hit it big?
Posted on 1/6/25 at 9:09 am to MorbidTheClown
As others have said, Jerry Jones slayed it with his speech….so far it’s been the best 2 minutes of the show.
