One simple and inconsequential thing that always bothered me was how Malcolm sees the big doors they were about to go thru and goes “what do they have in there? King Kong?” After seeing actual giant dinosaurs.

Or that he breaks their balls for not seeing any dinosaurs on the tour.

Of the new movies, I've only seen Jurassic World - and even then, only once. I seem to remember thinking those orb/pod transportation device thingies were preposterous. They would just go on the ground through a thick jungle - no impact from exposed roots or other obstructions. By my memory, there was no implication that they could hover.

Would Muldoon have been better off taking the HK out the weapon locker instead of the SPAS 12?

Oh, it's been awhile since I'd seen JP, didn't remember this.

They had G3's and he chose a 12 gauge instead? Yeah, that's a mistake.

That wasn't even the biggest issue. For whatever reason, Spielberg had the experienced hunter who was so fearful of his target he'd been advocating for them to be immediately destroyed go out into the jungle to hunt them AND HE DIDN'T HAVE HIS GUN READY TO FIRE. Like dude have that stock ready to go. You don't have time to waste or want to risk making noise hunting these things.

Muldoon fell victim to Spielberg's absolutely ridiculous "guns can never be shown in anything but an extremely negative way, and can never be used to accomplish anything" rule.

I think he would have died regardless, his problem wasn’t having the gun ready it was being hyper focused on just one raptor. The other one would have got him anyway

Watching JP now with my son. I forget that when Dennis Nedry meets Dodgson when they’re at the initial meetup (with the shaving cream thing to steal the embryos), when he makes Dodgson pay for his meal, he says: “Don’t get cheap on me, Dodgson. That was Hammond’s mistake.”

So he seems to insinuate he is fricking Hammond and JP over for John being cheap, but we later learn that he bud on the project for the job. So Hammond chose Nedry based on his bid. It’s not that he was being “cheap” with him. Now maybe you can argue that he wasn’t providing quality equipment for Nedry, but it seems like most of that stuff would’ve been covered in the contract. Which again, Nedry submitted a bid for.

Just stood out to me just now when I saw that scene.
