I think (like a few others) that the pool wasnt clear because jacob was dead. Why would Jacob tell Hurley to bring Sayid to the temple to save him unless he knew that he would be able to be saved. I think the Jacob's spirit somehow resided in the pool. When they took Sayid in they didnt baptize him, they drowned him. He was held under and he fought it. It almost looked as though he was being possessed. I know its farfetched but what isnt about this show. Jacob now resides in Sayid's body. I think within the next episode or so we will see the water clear back up. I also was curious as to why they didnt try to bring Juliet to the temple as well. I mean I know Jacob didnt mention her, but who are the losties to say that it wouldnt have worked. Also, I think at some point John Locke's body will wind up in the pool and he will be brought back to life.
As to the other timeline, I cant think about it, or I may suffer some type of temporal displacement... my nose started bleeding when the premiere started last night.

Cannot wait until next Tues
I dont think we will see a dull moment all season. There is too much that needs to be wrapped up.

I agree. Last season was a drudge to watch but we continued to play along. I think the final episodes are going to both revealing and entertaining.

season 3 was the worst IMO.
Seasons 1 and 2 are great. 5 is great, 4 is really good and so far 6 is off to an awesome start
i havent read this thread. Has anyone theorized on who the MIB/smoke monster really is and who/what Jacob really is/was?
Which one is "good"? Where is the "home" that the MiB was talking about?

The writing to this show is so incredible. Believe it or not, we got a hint all the way back in Season Two that the smoke monster was the devil. After last night, this scene skyrocketed to one of the most important scenes in the show:
Eko's Death
Pay attention to 1:25 and watch Yemi's reaction to the cross. Then watch his response to Eko at 2:43.
Finally, listen closely to Eko's last words at 4:47 and tell me if you hear what I hear.

i havent read this thread yet..but yeah i thought that jacob was in sayid's body as well. the fact sayid didn't visit hurley after he dided made me think something was up with him.
so what..we have a parallel time split now? 2 futures for the people?

Lindelof: I think one thing to keep in mind though is that just because one guy wears white and the other guy wears black, don't make immediate judgments over who's good and who's evil. Jacob has kind of put our guys through the wringer in a lot of ways, so it might be interesting to see what the Man in Black has to say for himself.
To say that Jacob is good, and MIB is Bad, is not so easy... Good and Bad are obviously Grey...
I am sure both have great arguements as to why they are good.

The reaction the cross seems more telling now, but still very subtle. However, when Yemi's says "you speak to me as if I was your brother" is obviously a huge hint that the reincarnated are not what they seem to be. And remember, that's a clip from all the back in Season Two.

The word devil is clear. Wonder why Locke didn't reveal it verbatim rather than give his own interpretation.

the writers have lied before. anyway, we are all getting really sidetracked here. a more important direct question is why didn't richard want them to shoot at MiB? was it to stop him from going smokey and killing them all? I'm pretty sure the guys that were with Ilana shot at him before he attacked them.
The Losties have thrown dynamite at the thing and it didn't kill it, nevertheless a single bullet. He was telling people not to shoot just so the Monster doesn't go apeshit and kill them all.

Damnit, why do I have a final on Wednesday?
I'm going to have to wait until after to.

i was on lostpedia, and someones sig caught my eye..
Anyone remember this.
i think this was pretty early in the series, and it sure does seem to hint that the MIB was planning his attack on Jacob for a long time... But could Jacob be the one setting the Trap for MIB?

And then you wait 'til your opponent lands here on the old cheese wheel.
And then if you set it up just right, you spring the trap."

I could have sworn he said he's ready to go back home. I interpreted that to be the temple.
He prob did say home.... guess I just interpreted it as earth in my mind.

I think it is pretty awesome that we have been arguing for 8 months whether the bomb/incident would send them back to present day on the Island or re-set them back to LAX...
and the writers said screw it, we're doing both.
