And Keira Knightley was 17 in real life when in this movie. Nothing scuzzy about that at all

She was 17 in Pirates of the Caribbean and WAAAYYY more sexualized in that.

After I learned that I felt dirty, but then I realized I was 19 when she was 17 and felt less dirty.

Also from my understanding her parents were on set for her sake on both movies.

Regarding LA, we watch it every year.

My favorite two stories are the PM and Natalie’s (she is the perfect thick by every standard and I find hilarious that everybody calls her fat) and Collin Firth and the Portuguese chick.

Followed by Ferb/Liam Neeson’s and Martin Freeman and the nude chick.

Home alone, Christmas vacation, and love actually are 3 movies that we watch every Christmas season

2 out of 3 ain't bad

Just watched it because of this thread. It was underwhelming. Won't be in my yearly rotation

I enjoy it. Lots of great actors in there. Alan Rickman plays a great role

It's a Christmas go-to.

17 up votes to zero down. I had to downvote cause this movie ain't it.

Compared to other Christmas rom coms, Love Actually is top tier. Not only do the wife and I watch it almost every year, but its theme song is also on the family Christmas playlist (and our young kids love it).

Watched this and The Holiday for the first time this year. Both are not just bad Christmas movies, they aren't good movies period. I don't understand the love for them.

Lots of people here are saying that. And I simply don't get it. But I watched it because of the overwhelmingly positive reviews at the top of the thread and the fact of all the up votes vs. the down votes. And I was hugely let down expecting something spectacular...that never happened. We have different tastes.

Terrible movie to watch with your kids.

Made for some awkward moments.

But there is a significant portion of the population that HATES this movie with a passion.

I'm one of them but it's because every woman in my family insists on watching it 37 times at Christmas.

I was just watching this movie and it's at the porn stand-ins' story and was thinking "welp, cross this one off the family list for awhile!"

Everybody is either cheating on someone, or stalking someone or behaving in some other ridiculous manner yet we are supposed to be rooting for these folks? Spare me. And yes Ive seen it several times, much to my chagrin

Agreed. I just don't love it. I'm not a hater, but there are so many better choices that I don't want to waste time on it.

Another involves a wife digging in her husbands coat pocket finding a necklace then assuming he’s cheating because she doesn’t get the necklace with the first gift she opens? Btw did he actually cheat with the secretary? She’s pretty hot.

yes, its been confirmed by the script writer it was a full physical affair, but they stayed married.

Was that in the film? If no then how do we know? In any event there is absolutely no way for Emma Thompson to know he was cheating simply because she opened a similar shaped gift and it was a CD
