I thought it was a fun ride. Bonus points for being something I've never seen before.

I actually figured out the twist but it wasn’t until right before the reveal. I immediately had flashbacks of the scene in Harry Potter but I won’t say which one as to not spoil too much.
Overall, I didn’t know whether to laugh or to take this seriously so it was mostly a miss for me but I watched it til the end so there’s that.

When they showed the "big reveal" moment, I immediately laughed out loud
Definitely a weird 2 hours... yet somehow I enjoyed it

Spoiler
All I kept thinking at the end was “I hope she doesn’t think they going to let her off the hook for murdering dozens of cops.”

Ok, since we are into spoilers...
*SPOILERS*
WTF was Gabriel? He took bullets like crazy, jumped floor to floor from a high rise and ran like Usain Bolt (while technically running backwards. I assume he was supernatural but I have no idea. I actually started laughing at about the midpoint of the movie bc I thought it was a comedy.
I feel like it was a decent premise but something happened at the studio and they edited it into something else.
Idk if I liked it or not but it was definitely worth a watch and left me wondering what just happened.

SPOILERS:
He was her evil twin. Why he could manipulate electrical devices and had crazy super powers was probably the biggest WTF in the movie. There was no explanation given and I don't recall anyone alluding to the fact that he was supernatural in any way. Apparently, Madison had the same abilities all along, but she was only able to utilize them at the end.

I enjoyed the fake-outs, like when the sister almost drives off a cliff, goes into a creepy building at night, hears a distressingly scary noise... and then absolutely nothing happens.
And especially the campiness, like when Zoë Bell is in the jail cell just throwing other inmates into harms way, or the aged artist's rendering is basically just a photo of the actress.
There were also some good one-liners, like low-budget Wanda Sykes with, "You want me to put a BOLO out on Sloth from The Goonies?!"
I think these types of movies work much better when they don't take themselves too seriously.

No kidding. Total Kuato ripoff. Am I the only one that guessed this was the twist from the very beginning? Especially once I knew she was adopted from the institute.

Unfortunately, no. The surgery, the blood from the back of the head, and the wig that the main actress was wearing did it for me. When she started showing up during the actual crimes, I was convinced.
Which meant there was no "big reveal," but it was still entertaining, all things considered.
I thought it was especially obvious during the fight scene with the police officer, when he's literally running away backwards.

Intentionally writing a bad movie means never having to say you’re sorry. Or to bother explaining flaws in logic.

Just watched it - had a few decent moments but meh overall.

I think this is Wan creating another universe. The series of files could each be a new monster, culminating in an end game type scenario

How did this get made just dropped the episode for this movie for those interested..

Just finished the movie. Didn’t really like it. Like others have said a few decent moments but overall meh. It’ll def be a dumb Halloween movie that’ll be played on tv for years during October

Finally got around to this and it is fantastic. James Wan proved once again why he is a master of the horror genre.

The end was the only part I enjoyed. Maybe it was because at that point it stopped the pretenses of trying to be serious and just went full camp. It fought that battle the whole movie and the first two acts were tough to get through because of it
But that final third I highly enjoyed myself and laughed my arse off the whole time

All I have to say is the Seattle Police department must not require any range time. I am not sure who is the worst, StormTroopers, Redshirts or Seattle PD.
