My wife and I watch all 5 Ep's last night. The Trailers really misleading. Instead of watching a series taking place in Hells Kitchen in the world that created Jessica Jones, Daredevil, Luke Cage and where we saw Hawkeye and Kate Bishop fighting the forces of the villainous Kingpin, we end on on the middle of Oklahoma on an Indian vision quested and family drama that took too long to get to the point.
The native Indian culture was interesting and well acted, but it wasn't what was expected. Kingpin showed up too late and wasn't enough interacting with Wilson Fisk.
Fortunately it's watched and I can move one. No need to rewatch.

Once you realize that Disneys board is run by activists who are evaluating success and failure based on DEI goals rather than ratings and revenue it makes more sense.
They don’t care if you watch, they only care about achieving diversity so the execs can get their bonuses.
What the hedge funds who are underwriting this trainwreck get out of it is a subject for the political board.

As a side note, I saw Charlie Cox at the Fan Expo this weekend. Dude is a lot smaller than I expected. Even Vincent D'Onofrio was smaller than he's portrayed on screen.

I tried, I lost interest halfway through the first episode, can't do this anymore. Just not interesting.

I haven’t seen this show, I’m in this thread because I’m curious what the consensus is and I can tell you with 100% certainty she’s just a deaf girl boss with one leg wrecking shite. If you don’t find that believable then consider yourself still clinically sane.

That's normal for Hollywood. Men are normally around 5'10. Women are normally a bit taller than average.
Alan Ritchson (Reacher) towers over his male counterparts and you believe he's 6'5 until he stands next to a woman in a shot and you realize he's 6'1-6'2.

I finished it last night and thought it was enjoyable. Nothing great, probably won't watch again, but it was better than I thought it would be. Not the train wreck it was perceived to be when it was announced all the episodes would drop at once. I had a couple gripes I mentioned in an earlier post about EP's 1 and 2, but if I were to add another the climax of the show missed for me. Echo basically used her new found powers to make Kingpin think good thoughts and that was that?
But yeah, I don't think it's anywhere near Marvel's best but it's not anywhere near their worst either. And I like Maya as a character.

I watched all 5 episodes today. I'll never get that time back. It sucked

The lead girl who plays Maya is really good at carrying around rage, she exudes it well.

Disney can’t even hide it anymore
Make America skate again
It was a brutal show
Marvel is crashing and burning and this series was so freaking bad

There is this moronic flashback to like 1,200AD Alabama where the Choctaws are playing a lacrosse-like game and, of course, a squaw goes all Barry Sanders on all these warriors to save their tribal land.
High stakes for a game.
Life or death, much like the Iron Bowl.

I watched it up to the point where all the ancestors showed up in the final fight in what felt like a big cultural/gender-empowerment moment. I was already waning on the series, but the way they dragged that scene out just bored me out of watching the rest.

Back in the day, when Echo appeared originally in the Daredevil comics, it was my least favorite arc of issues that had been done to that point. David Mack's art was not appealing to me nor was the character. I tuned those issues out. How could I possibly be excited for a TV show of a character that ruined the issues of a comic book I had enjoyed up to that point.
Of course, I hated Miles Morales Spider-man also. In fact, all of the Spider-Verse that is so popular was dull and boring to me so maybe I am too old for comics or comic movies anymore?

I just finished.
For me, it wasn't terrible but I also don't care about what she does next. They didn't make her a very compelling character. Honestly, she would have been more compelling if they showed more of her being the enforcer for Kingpin.

The final episode turned a D+-C- show into an F-. Magically giving her powers and then her being able to pass those powers to her mother and friend? What a shite final battle scene.

Grandmother and Cousin. Hence the power being shared through the Echos of her ancestors. Did you even watch bro?

Yeah, you watched. And are correct. It wasn't very impactful.
