The whole time I was watching Vikings I had buddies that were watching Last Kingdom and kept telling me how much better it is. I tried to watch it after but didn’t give it a fair chance because I went in not wanting to like it more than Vikings lol. I watched the first season and thought it was pretty good, need to give it another shot eventually

Vikings Valhalla which left some holes in its ending that could have been answered with one or two more episodes
I was so disappointed with where they ended that series. After they introduced a young William the Conqueror they definitely could have done one more season ending with the Battle of Stamford Bridge and the Normans landing in England, literally the end of the viking age

Currently on the last season of Last Kingdom. The DEI gets pretty cringe, and it has gone full Girl-Boss, but I am determined to finish. Vikings is next.
After you finish watching Vikings don’t start Vikings Valhalla (the spin-off) if you think the DEI in The Last Kingdom is cringe.
The Last Kingdom is #1, then Vikings #2, Valhalla is way down on that list.

I read Book 1 of the Last Kingdom series.
then watched episode one of the series.
Episode 1 of the series skips from chapter one to one of the last chapter of the book, so I quit watching.

I'm pretty quick to notice "casting for modern audiences" bullshite in media, but I don't remember there being much of it in TLK.
It's been a few years, so maybe I don't remember.
Care to remind me?

I didn’t either. A ton in Vikings Valhalla but don’t remember thinking it in TLK.

Enjoyed it all. Anyone that didn’t like it is trash.

Only thing I can think of is in the last season the priest was a black guy.

I didn’t notice it at all in The Last Kingdom series but the movie that came out a couple of years ago was terrible

Just finished season 3 last night with end of the battle for Paris. IMO, the last few episodes of the season and the battle for Paris rivals anything GOT ever put out for battle scenes. That was quite intense.

Yes. Watch it.
Correct.

Finished this series last night. I didn't realize I was watching the series finale until I got to the final scene and it just hit me. I will probably watch Vikings-Valhalla just because I am interested in this period of history. I've already watched The Last Kingdom, just need to watch the movie.
The series is based on the real history of the Viking invasions of England, so the story could have just continued on until the Battle of Stamford Bridge for the Viking side of this story and the Norman Conquest and beyond for the English side of the story. Could even bring everything full circle with a spinoff about Rollo Lothbrok, Duke of Normandy, whose descendants would eventually conquer England in the Norman Conquest.

Just finished this one. The movie crammed a lot in to it. It could have been another season, even if not as long as the previous seasons.
