Breaking Bad is head and shoulders above any non-HBO show IMO, including LOST. I liked LOST, a lot, but the writing and ccting in BB is on such a higher level that I don't even think it's fair to compare the two.
The Wire
Breaking Bad
Sopranos
would be my top 3.
Then the rest.....
(disclaimer: I've never watched Mad Men, I'm waiting til I can get the DVDs and start with season 1)

Anyone else think Jesse's going to finally ricin Gus and save the day? The previous poisoning would be a plausible cover, and the autopsy would almost certainly detect it and blame Gus's death on it. Sure Jesse hates Walt now, but when he finds out Gus is going to kill Walt's whole family including the kids, he won't go along with it. This episode had yet another reminder of how much Jesse likes kids.

Maybe he's going to ask Jesse for some cash. Oh, wait, how much does that new Rage cost?

I agree with this. Don't count out Mike, either. I don't think Mike's into killing kids.

didn't Mike say he had kids?

He also has small grandchildren.
Tyrus is really creepy. I wonder what his story is. Watch him turn out to be DEA in deep undercover.

The preview for next week showed Walt making an explosive of some kind.
It also showed a dog (DEA dog obviously)sniffing around the equipment/secret entrance to the lab.

I'm not sure where Walts money has gone either. I think at one point they said just how much he was making and it was somewhere between 5-7 million a year. He spent $1million on the carwash, $600K on Ted, so where's the rest?
Maybe I just made up the 5-7 mill a year number but I think thats right

It's $7.5 million (gross) per year each for him and Jesse, but they've been making that for only 3-4 months or so. Prior to the superlab job, they had only one really big payday, and that was the initial sale to Gus of that 40 lbs they cooked in the RV. That netted something like $500K each after expenses. So Walt's made probably $2-3 million or so total. The whole series has taken place over a year or so.

Saul likely has 25% of every dime walts made.

I missed the episode last night, is there a replay on Mondays?

I thought I noticed that. I'm thinking Walt tries to blow up the lab or Gus' house.

I think Walt was making 2 million a year, and if you're paying for extensive rehab services with no insurance it can easily reach that amount.
It's weird that after this season there will still be 16 episodes left. I wouldn't want the burden of being a writer on this show.

I wasn't sure until the end of this episode that Walt will die in the end but there couldn't be any more direct foreshadowing than the coffin like appearance of him under the house to close the show. He won't die until next year but he will certainly die now. If there is one thing i can say about this great show it is consistnt with it's foreshadowing. ex: the rug earlier in this show.

Would Walt sacrifice Jesse to save his family?

Did you notice his cough has returned?

I did but I had forgotten until you mentioned it. There was so much going on last night I forgot all about it. I have wondered for awhile now whether Walt was really given the all clear after his last doctor visit as he blew off Sky's question about his visit and said he was still in remission but he appeared aprehensive when he said it.
