I hate classifying something as "overrated" because a lot of people like it, so obviously it appeals to a large group.

It probably would be better to describe them as "popular shows that you never cared for" but that kind of rational doesn't belong on tigerdroppings.

you've got to be kidding me? LOST overrated? puhlease.

Likewise. LOST was a very popular series for a reason: it was unique with great writers and characters/actors.

If you didn't like the first season of Weeds, I probably wouldn't associate with you IRL. First two seasons of that show are great.

Not that I'm crying over not associating with you IRL, but can you genuinely explain what you liked about the first two seasons?

All I've seen so far is a shitty mom making shitty decisions to support her shitty sons in suburban hell.

Not one of the characters is likeable, save Conrad and MAYBE Shane (but he's turned out to be a little derelict as well).

Serious question. I want to know what I"m missing.

I didn't even see that post, nice work

Ok, I'll be less predictable:

Deadwood, I could never get into that show. And I love westerns.

I always dogged on Lost. Then someone challenged me to watch the first two episodes back in April...my GF and I got hooked and spent the next month catching up before the finale. Literally hours watching it everyday for a month. Anyway, the first three seasons were great, then it got sucky.

I really don't get why people say "The first 3 seasons were great", when the second season I would say is easily the worst of the seasons. Michael and Ana Lucia very much ruin the entire season, the first 9 episodes are even worse than the first 9 episodes of Season 3, and the only truly great episodes from that season were The 23rd Psalm (Eko's first flashback) and One of Them (when we first meet Ben). Season Six has that beat solely from Ab Aeterno, Happily Ever After, the Candidate, and The End.

It boils down to 3 things on why some people see the later seasons as inferior:

1) They didn't like the answers given to them
2) They obsess over the answers not given to them
3) They hated time travel

If you didn't like it, you didn't like it...I have yet to change anyone's opinion during my tenure on TD. But I thought it was great, the acting's great, it's hilarious, the storyline was good (back then)...all the reasons one would choose to like a show. I can tell we obviously have different tastes because you liked the character of Shane, and he was the only one I couldn't stand.
