The only really cool thing that Sisko had going for him, is that he was from New Orleans, and we got to see that NOLA, did not get washed away, or destroyed in the wars.
and his full name "Benjamin Lafayette Sisko" is kinda cool.

quote:
Born in 2332 in New Orleans, Louisiana, Benjamin is the son of Joseph Sisko, the chef and owner of the restaurant "Sisko's Creole Kitchen," "Sisko's" for short. His birth mother was a human woman named Sarah. However, Sarah was actually possessed by one of the Bajoran Prophets (the life-forms that exist inside the Bajoran wormhole), who manipulated her into marrying Joseph and conceiving Benjamin. Sarah and Joseph were happily married until Sarah disappeared two days after Ben's first birthday, when the life-form left her body. She died in an accident several years later. Joseph eventually met and married another woman who went on to raise Benjamin as her own son.

Deep Space Nine was the best Star Trek series, even despite being an idea stolen from J. Michael Straczynski.
This should be fun.

why didn't you use his character's name and B) the only reason I point out A is bc you lose 5 nerd points for getting the actors name wrong. It's Avery
That was a joke because he looks similar to Aaron Brooks and also because last DS9 thread some guy kept calling him Aaron Brooks by accident.

Be sure you bump that old thread when you continue watching Babylon 5 and realize that your initial judgment was erroneous.

For sheer swashbuckling - KIRK #1
For depth of character - Picard #1
Nobody else crosses the finish line.

Sisko had a Machiavellian streak that made him a little more dangerous, and therefore interesting in my mind. I enjoy protagonists who may surprise me by sacrificing principles at certain times. Of course, I'm also a sociopath.

I take it you've never seen Deep Space Nine.
Posted on 3/30/11 at 7:07 pm to Muppet
Yep. Seen it. Only interesting when Worf got there and they got in a war. Sisko leaves me cold. Only interesting turn is when he decides to bring the Romulans into the Dominion War and sacrafice his morals, and that was one episode.

In the "Fringe" alternate universe version of this thread, Muppet is wrong and BigAppleTiger is right

Picard
Kirk
Kirk had a stellar team to lean on and was a lush.
All Picard had was a blind black dude, an albino robot, and Whoopie Goldberg.

fricking false

Double false. 1) William T. RIKER served as an exchange officer as the FIRST Federation officer to serve on a Klingon ship. 2) A little known Federation officer named Worf Son of Mogh served on The IKS Rotaran during the Dominion War.
Also, all of that was out of my head, so I'll be crying myself to sleep now...
