I really hope Steve-O doesn't come out and cry foul at the Dunn joke considering his joke was 1000X more classless:
quote:
"The last time this many nobodies were at a roast, at least Great White was playing."

Network TV isn't censored enough, you want it censored because a professional drunk blew himself up in his sports car? The fact that there was only one Dunn joke surprised me. The people saying that certain things are "over the line" reminded me to find the clip of Joan Rivers "explaining" comedy to some humorless heckler.
People who laugh at every joke right up until their one thing ("oh, those jokes about the black guy's credit and the mexican being lazy were funny, but then he told a joke about Parkinson's and my aunt has that which AUTOMATICALLY MAKES THAT UNFUNNY TO EVERYONE ON EARTH so that comedian wasn't funny at all. Now, let's go to Olive Garden.") sound juvenile to me.
Either appreciate comedy or don't. My grandmother died of Alzheimer's, my stepdad of cancer; does that create an artificial "edge" or stop me from making cancer or senility jokes? NOPE.

exactly. My gf's dad has Parkinson's and she thought the pic of Michael J Fox with the caption "what earthquake?" was funny, after we had the earthquake here in DC

Will someone please explain to me why Steve-O, Knoxville or any of those dumbasses remain interesting after the first year they appeared on the scene?

i haven't read most of the thread because i didn't see it and don't really want to be spoiled.
i did hear patrice oneal's set on O & A this morning. norton said he winged the whole thing. he was great.
i'm guessing it was schumer that made the ryan dunne joke?
i'll have to go listen to her part. but i've sung her praises many times on here before. i only like about 4-5 female comics and she's near the top of the list.

i went back and watched her part. first off, she destroyed.
secondly, i didn't think the joke about ryan was over the line, it was a joke at steve-o's expense with ryan as the point of reference.
as for it being too soon? that's up to personal taste.

Jeselnik destroyed, as expected.
"Charlie you've convinced more women to have abortions than the pre natal test for down syndrome"
from Jeselnik's twitter:
I was disappointed in Patrice Oneal. Usually i think he is hilarious but didnt think he was on tonight.
and i forget who said it but this was a gem:
"Anthony Jeselnik. Some people say your the next Greg Giraldo...lets hope."

i think that was Jeff Ross, who i thought was pretty solid
i liked when he told Jon Lovitz that he was "Chinning". also said it was good to see him taking a break from a break

He went up there and said screw it and didn't read his pre-written stuff.

That is funny... you can see the shirt that he was wearing at the roast in the background.

O'Neal wasn't horrible but I was expecting much funnier from him.

thats the first time I have seen Jeselnik's act and man is he brutal....but after looking over a few YouTube clips posted in this thread I can see why you guys like him....he would fit in perfectly on the OT
The bit where he told a joke like Dane Cook is pretty funny, I will admit

he said some funny stuff, but his delivery was off. Dont think he is smart enough to pull that type of thing off.

I liked jeselnick the best. He was getting drilled pretty hard the entire time and came out swinging when it was his turn. I like his delivery a lot to.
Schumer was probably the next best, her dunn joke killed (ha a joke). I can see people getting angry about it but whatever, its a frickin roast. I dont really see whats worse about making that joke then openly joking about charlie hitting his wife in front of her and everyone...
It's a roast, if people are planning on getting angry then why watch it to begin with? Have yall not seen these things before?
ETA Sheen was actually pretty damn funny to

Was that the Roast of Charlie Sheen or the Roast of Patrice O'Neal?

Charlie's ex wife is the trashiest thing out there. Why show up.
