Going to be interesting because all of the pre-release info from "Disney" said this would easily destroy the Pirates of the Caribbean record over the Memorial Day weekend. End of the day, I still think it does better than the numbers currently suggest.

Having said that, I've seen all the Star Wars movies. I've read some of the books. I like Sci-Fi and... I have zero interest in seeing this in the theater.

Disney over inflated their marketing and has been running a strategy of fraud and abrasive nonsense since TLJ came out. I'm glad it's catching up to them. What an absolute pathetic shite show this studio has been so far.

I’m rooting for all these movies to tank so Disney is forced to get different people in charge of the franchise. The crew they have now are arse.

I don't know how much it has to do with TLJ. I personally enjoyed the movie yet my interest in Solo is pretty low. If I see this it will be for $5 at like 4:00 on a Tuesday.

Disney is actually happy about one of its movies giving up a box-office record. Solo: A Star Wars Story just beat out the 2007 performance of Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. Solo's $14.1 million haul for Thursday evening previews topped Pirates' $13.2 million record for a Memorial Day weekend opening in the US.

Walt Disney Co. slashed its opening-weekend forecast for "Solo: A Star Wars Story" as early returns from theaters signaled a deeply disappointing opening for the company's newest space adventure film. Ticket sales at U.S. and Canadian theaters are likely to total $105 million to $115 million through the four-day Memorial Day weekend, Disney said Friday in an email. That's a sharp cut from prior company estimates that ran as high as $150 million.

Which to believe.

You mean kinda like the hype from TLJ where they were so floored and pleased with the quality of this amazing film they immediately green lit the director to helm his own original Star Wars trilogy?

I got killed on Hollywood Stock Exchange on both Solo and Obi-Wan, today. Solo dropped H$27.50/share and Obi-Wan was down H$14+.

Not a good day. I unloaded all my SWAR2 stock just to stop the bleeding.

My only fear is that Kennedy and her crew say well the anthology movies are dead but this has no bearing on the trilogy.

The next movie in the trilogy is gonna do well just because it’s the last one in this arc.

What arc?

Stand alone Rogue One had more an arc to ANH than TFA had with TLJ. And just about everyone fricking died.

Previews were 45 mil for TLJ, 29 mil for RO. Solo only did 14.
