Yes, I was having a discussion with someone else and you jumped in. Then you lost your shite because I brought up May again, after it had already been brought up. That was probably about 20 pages ago now. Better get busy reading...

2. Deadpool 2 $2,646,473
3. Adrift $1,229,555

ETA: Not looking good for the weekend either. 200 mill domestic is almost not possible. It's guaranteed to lose money.

Why has this movie done so poorly? I saw it over the weekend and actually really liked it. Is it because most people were pissed off at TLJ (which I haven't seen yet)?

That is the only reason I have not seen it.
I can't speak for most.

Yes.

SW is for the fans.

Rian Johnson wanted to broaden the audience, but the way he chose to do it necessarily alienated the core fans.

Those core fans have decided to stay home for Solo, and likely episode 9 and Boba Fett.

Disney needs to do some serious damage control, and may have to retcon episode 8 out of existence.

Or they could just sell the rights

It probably is for most.

For me, I would have never gone to this even if TLJ was agreed upon as the best of the entire franchise, because...Harrison Ford IS Han Solo for me, and I was never going to a movie that felt the need to recast him.

That's part of it. I also think the marketing was poor, and it's really a film that no one was asking for. We don't want to see someone else play Han Solo. Most people I know are not star wars die hards, the movie just doesn't look interesting to them.

Well we have The Incredibles 2 on deck.

From what we know that will do its usual SJW mocking/nodding. If it is anything like the first movie it could be the best superhero movie of the year. Though I expect it will do do a lower box office then some movies out there it should probably make bank.

Solo, and by extension, the Star Wars franchise, is shaping up to the be turd in the punch bowl for what could be the greatest year of Disney movies ever.

This should have gone IW huge box office smash (it was), Solo huge box office smash (it ain't), then Incredibles 2 a moderately successful property that earns money for decades.

Disney is now hoping that The Incredibles 2, a movie without a huge push, will save the summer season for them.

They would have been better served to go IW and then, a month or two down the road, Incredibles 2.

I have 2 friends in a Mandolorian Platoon that does ComicCons, so you could say I know some die-hards

Neither will watch Solo. They are pissed about Fett. One of the 2 has sworn off future Star Wars movies.

Oh I know.

But these are the hardcore fans. If the die hard fans start turning on it, it's getting bad.

Star Wars depends on the hardcore fans for the guaranteed money base. They didn't show for Solo, so you were left with the casuals, or Donald Glover fans.

It's cute the way you defend the franchise, though. Reminds me of the handful of Dinardo fans in 99.

It is clear that the TLJ was widely hated by core fans, an that Solo's disastrous numbers are a result.

Dude.

A Star Wars movie is going to LOSE money.

Star Wars.

Dude.
