Just FYI, but you always bitch and complain about your username being permabanned on TD...but go check out how much of a retard you've been the last 5 or so pages in this thread.

That may be a clue as to why.

I guess my main gripe is not that I NEED people to die. But if you keep telling me how dangerous all of this stuff is, yet there aren't really any consequences for any of the main characters, then eventually I buy into it less and less that there is actual danger. If that makes sense.

i was hoping numerous would die. Just a personal preference simply because it's been 500 hours of life or death situations and at some point for your show to continue to get me to believe that this is actually that serious, someone should die. Kids battling and constantly defeating all powerful monsters and the actual military just doesn't make sense. At least kill an adult.

But after they couldn't even sacrifice the Wheelers when saving Holly, I knew they weren't going to kill anyone. Mike was a kind of likable character but he was useless. He tried to kill the demo, gets wounded and they never show him again the rest of the season until the graduation. Hell they didn't even go visit him in the hospital Why not ill him? The mom of course comes back and saves the day in one of the dumbest scenes ever but Mike then proceeds to basically say "Mom, you are a pretty irrelevant character and we don't need you here" letting us know she could have been killed off.

Hopper, whom I love, should have died in the explosion in S3.

All that being said, nobody dying in the finale didn't bother me at all. Things should have happened prior. The finale as decent enough. At least saved it from being a crash and burn. I had plenty of gripes about the finale but plenty of highlights. Which almost summarizes the whole show.

A little surprised Steve and Nancy didn't end up together.

I think it set up with his arc nicely. He wasn't trying to steal nancy, he was just genuinely trying to be a friend, so no isses there

My main gripes are how easily Vecna/the mind flayer were dispatched. They never really felt in true peril in the battle here. Then no real closure on the military aspect of things.... where did they go? "Y'all killed a ton of soldiers, we killed a ton of pregnant women, let's just call it even and move on?"

Don't know why I was thinking 420 but it's definitely CP3. 420 would have at least come up with a halfway decent username. I know that 10 minute Will coming out scene was just eating CP3 up. Guy obsesses over woke but is legit obsessed with a show that had the longest coming out scene in the history of television and the second strongest characters power was because he accepted the gayness.

Just finished ep 7.

A lot happening. The group is back together. Max finally comes back.

Ell's "sister" wants both them to die to end any chance of the program continuing? Is she being controlled?

Steve is smart?

And, did we really need a 15 minute cry fest for Will to announce he's gay? And everyone except they gay chick is surprised?

My main gripe is that we are constantly bombarded in this show with situations and scenarios that are life or death, or where it's the most dangerous shite ever...yet nobody ever really dies. And I'm talking main characters...obviously people like Barb, Bob, Billy, or Eddie have died.

But when you put so much emphasis on conversations like Dustin and Steve's "if you die, we die," but then nothing happens, it sort of cheapens it for me. I mean, we see Nancy and the husband go toe to toe with a demigorgan and get slashed up, only to be completely fine a week later. Max got twisted and her bones broken by Vecna for frick's sake, and she was all good sans being in a wheelchair for a few weeks.

I guess my main gripe is not that I NEED people to die. But if you keep telling me how dangerous all of this stuff is, yet there aren't really any consequences for any of the main characters, then eventually I buy into it less and less that there is actual danger. If that makes sense.

100% agree. You can't say there are consequences and then plot-armor all of your primary, secondary and even some of your tertiary characters. That said, there has been a waning sense of consequences, especially for S4 and S5. The fights in the final episode were well done, but that lack of consequences really jumped out during the scene where they drive out of the Upside-Down, face a hailstorm of bullets and yet not one person was even scuffed (bullets didn't even penetrate the windowshield nor balsa wood in the back of the truck). Once you see it, it's hard to unsee it and that can take a viewer out of the scene.

I do get a little annoyed when they are running around in a very clear world/planet, and they're like "let's get on those vantage points on those cliffs over there"....and then fast-forward like ten minutes and everyone is on the mountains, when that would've taken hours and hours, minimum.

When they mentioned the cliff, that was the first thought I had. How fricking long do they expect Elle to distract the demon?

The wrap-up at the end went on far too long, it felt like they couldn't decide on an ending so they said "frick it, let's just do all of them." Dustin's speech was ridiculous, topped only by how everyone was cheering for it. It's not like the principal was any sort of demon nor had been a constant roadblock to them, so throwing him under the bus of Dustin's ranting was useless and boring. We also didn't need the Mike/Hopper moment as all of that was all undone with Mike's memory and the D&D game narrative.

I get that this went to theaters, but after the attempt to get Will on video at the house, Mike/Hopper, Lucas/Max, the graduation, "Rockin' Robin's" rambling speech, the rooftop meetup, the after-graduation chat, the D&D game, Will's stories and then the younger kids coming in to play D&D, it felt like they stretched the ending waaaaay too long just to have a reason to put it in theaters. It felt almost like the final second of the Ole Miss/Georgia game that lasted 10 minutes.

It could have been a lot better had they just transitioned to the basement game, Will doing his talk about the characters' lives after the battle (including the rooftop group), then end with the younger kids coming down to play.

I enjoyed the series and am glad they wrapped it up so thoroughly.

Just nuts on the internet rambling...

- If you search "Fake Ending" on netflix, the only thing that pops up is Stranger Things
- Netflix posted something somewhere about 1/7 in a cryptic way
- Duffers on camera being asked about multiple versions of an ending and them rolling their eyes and saying "who has time to write that"
- Something about "conformity gate"

The worst 5 minute scene maybe in tv history. Luckily it was only 5 minutes out of 46 hours in 5 seasons.
That episode overall was the 2nd weakest of the series. The rest of the season 5 was good. The finale was fantastic and landing the ending.

Yea, wasn't just five minutes. You're conveniently ignoring the whole story aspect. He legit is a sorcerer because he's able to accept that he's gay. At the end of EP4 when Will was first channeling his powers after his girl talk with Robin, they really should have him yell "AAAAHHHHHHH IM GAAAAAAAAAY YOU BASTARD!!!!" That really would have scared Vecna.

Gave up on that a long time ago. I don’t watch stuff that is terrible and I don’t enjoy or hate watch for that matter.
Lord of the rings is the greatest trilogy of all time. It’s a shame what woke does to tv shows and movies. Rings of power just wasn’t good from the start.

I would start the new scrubs tv show thread if they ever brought back CP3 since I started the series finale thread back in 09 on here.

Not going to lie, this sounds like GoT “she sort of forgot about the Iron Fleet” 2.0. Forget about the abyss, there were no demos of any kind in the Upside Down save maybe that one attack scene on a convoy. There was no sneak attack, the military was literally driving in and out of there and set up an entire base without issue. Killed the vibe and danger of the Upside Down for me.
