Diego Luna has said that season 2 of Andor is gonna make Rogue One even better
Considering RO is the best Star Wars film outside of the original trilogy, that's saying something.

Glad that Disney canned The Acolyte. Here's an easy pivot - develop a 2 season series set 20-30 years before Phantom Menace that focuses on Qui-Gon Jinn, Mace Windu, Count Dooku, and Palpatine. Don't overthink it and try to subvert the overall storyline by making the Jedi the real bad guys. Don't give full creative control to a woke provocateur like Leslye Headland. Put it under Filoni & Favreau's purview (or, better yet, Tony Gilroy and Diego Luna if they are up for more Star Wars).
The only aspect of The Acolyte worth preserving - make the series' fight coordinator the all-time Lightsaber guy for all Star Wars content. That dude is legit.
Disney has a dynamite story in Heir to the Empire. They need to adapt the Zahn books with Luke Skywalker and Thrawn. Just pretend everything put out since ROTS is non canon

Half the fandom is either toxic or hates everything. The other half of fandom that actually enjoys the stuff is slowly being trained not get invested or care because it’s all just gonna get canceled anyways.

The Acolyte being cancelled is just another example of toxic internet hate. The show never got a chance to breathe and half the people hating on it never even watched an episode.
It’s not my favorite piece of Star Wars content but it certainly didn’t deserved to be axed.

I HATE THIS. Leslye Headland, the first woman to create a Star Wars series, tapped into something fresh and exciting in the fandom with S1 and while I had my notes she absolutely deserved a second season to let those ideas cook. We all lose with this.

What a shitty timeline we’re in. Legitimately awful. No room for projects to grow their audiences. Just instant dismissal for the people who worked on #TheAcolyte, Willow, and a hundred other shows. All because of shortsighted business. Streaming is mostly a plague at this point.

Terrible news. A good show with so much potential that a bunch of assholes decided to ruin by drowning all the conversation in bad faith criticism.

The Twitter melts are awesome. Reminds me of watching madking melt in the show thread

By runtime it was one of the most expensive shows in history and was terrible. Disney would be lighting money on fire to bring it back

$180 million for a season requires a helluva lot of “room to breathe.” A Star Wars show struggling to crack the top 10 for streaming shows is criminal malfeasance. Calling your fandom names probably didn’t help.

I really don’t think the actual decision makers at Disney ever truly realized what was happening over the last decade. With Kennedy shoehorning in “representation” and giving the thumbs up to projects that would cause harm to the current lore while having actors/directors insult its fanbase for criticizing them.
They just looked at the bottom line and didn’t pay attention to the cliff that was coming. Well they’ve finally pissed off/run off a lot of the old Gen X and millennial fans and it’s starting to show up with viewership. If they want to truly save the franchise they have GOT to get Kennedy out of the way. If she’s allowed another decade then the Star Wars IP will be worth less than when they bought it.

Weirdos realizing they are the minority and Disney needs to appeal to actual Star Wars fans to survive as a company
Posted on 8/19/24 at 8:20 pm to Henry Jones Jr
There's plenty of people in that sub pointing out minority representation in literally ALL of the other star wars properties and the show being canceled because it was overpriced crap, and the response is what you would expect. Fingers in ears "lalalala" idiocity.
