Honestly that is a good idea.

A streaming channel dedicated to re-imagining cinema through a gay lens.

No original source material required. Just make “Be Kind Rewind” a whole channel for the community and charge $20 a month. If you don’t subscribe you aren’t a real ally

Sounds like I did the right thing in not watching.

The female force continues to suck the life out of a great legacy.

Yeah that is the problem with writing a new story for Thrawn. Writing a brilliant character, means you must actually be kind of brilliant yourself...or at least have a long time to think about what the character might do when presented with a problem.

There is no Disney writer capable of this, especially on a time deadline for a TV show. They took a masterpiece from a talented writer that they had free and clear rights to...and they trashed it. We all know why but thats neither here nor there

If Elon Musk, Apple, whoever bought Lucasfilm and adapted that story in a trilogy, it would make bonkers money.

Nobody hated Rey, Ashoka, Cara Dune, or Sackhoff’s (not even going to try to remember or to spell it right from memory) because they were women. Rey was a bit of a Mary Sue, but none of those people earned the same ire of the Acolyte.

Yes the only reason people disliked Rey was b/c she was a perfectly formed Jedi off top/Mary Sue.

One critic explained it in the most succinct and poignant way possible...

"We don't care about Rey and her struggle because she doesn't fricking have one."

Wait, wait, wait, I was ASSURED and told it was an absolute certainty that the show was massively popular how can Disney cancel such a cultural milestone? How dare they? Racist fricking Disney. Time to fire up the same boycott machine we used for Hogwarts Legacy. Disney has left us no choice and we are in the heavy majority and enough to effect their bottom line.

I think a big issue with Rey was because she was the canary in the mineshaft.

KK wanted to make Star Wars more female focused and went overboard. She made Rey top perfect and it made everyone else look worst by comparison.

And Disney was fine with this because the impression was that the male fan base was always going to stay and they would be able to add more female fans. Instead by going too far in one direction they started to have male fans fall off without truly adding female fans.

Disney needs someone who will be interested in reinvigorating the core base again and try to have side projects that appeal to other fanbases that way.

Him and dawgfan are likely sitting in a room shaking with anger attempting to bot farm all over the internet to erase the history where it was claimed this show was the best Star Wars in many years. One that was massively popular and that Nielsen ratings aren’t relevant…..even though D+ has it automatically turned on in your account settings for tracking. Now it will suddenly shift to it wasn’t good anyway.

not surprising

I can only hope the fight choreographer continues to find work in the Star Wars Universe.

Story aside, great fight scenes.

Congrats to you Star Wars hate bots in this thread. Your repugnant voices were heard and now funding for future Star Wars projects will go to completely creatively bankrupt Marvel projects. Your behavior on this board and across the internet has been an absolute disgrace and embarrassment to well adjusted people that enjoy new Star Wars content.

Women don’t care about sci-fi space wars! Not enough to truly move the needle. It’s greed, instead of just making a profit with quality content, we must have more.

Great fight scenes

I guess the one myth that will continue to endure for some reason. Maybe because it was only mediocre and not total shite like any other possible component of this show. The fight scene in episode 5 had some good moments where the only potentially interesting character in the show slaughters Jedi like cattle (before they ruined him by trying to thirst trap any degenerate who would have them) but it has many many many issues with it that got overlooked in production. I wouldn’t necessarily blame the choreography for this and would inclined to blame Lesley Headland since she can’t seem to pay meticulous attention to anything but the fight scenes in the last episode are all absolute shite with not moments of success shining through so I’m not inclined to agree. More likely they were slightly more competent than usual for a DEI hire.

But hey cling onto what you can. We all remember you talking about how good the show was….until it wasn’t a defensible position anymore

That slo-motion fighting in the finale wasn’t it and I really hate the kung-fu shite in the SW universe.

Definitely not the former. El Gaucho is capable of being clever, Al clearly isn't able to do that.

What you don’t like crouching tiger hidden dragon combat in a show where people have laser guns, laser swords, and magic powers allowing them to manipulate the environment around them? Shocking I tell you

This is a common issue with "creatives" trying to "have representation" (Especially within a set canon/IP).

For whatever reason, the traditional hero journey is beneath them (er, is "nostalgia bait") and they are just the most powerful badass from the beginning.

It's like they're primarily focused on any weakness of the female lead, because it may lead to criticism, which they internalize as criticism of themselves. They forget everything they know about literature, hero journeys, etc. It's not even subversion. It's insanity.

How come your constant spin of all of things woke on the poliboard isn’t translated here? Is it because it’s become so indefensible and mocked by society at large attempting to do so would make you a laughing stock? Theory has merit
