ETA: With a few exceptions of bad judgment by people, these threads have generally stayed spoiler free for the most part. Most people wanting to watch the show don't want to know what happens beforehand.

i agree no spoilers but saying a girl that literally hasnt even been shown once gets replaced by someone that we can all see in the trailers and previews is really just not a spoiler

My question is, why wouldn't mtv just let the show playout and air the fight instead of editing the girl out completely?
I mean, how many past seasons was there a rookie on there who got into a fight within the first couple episodes and then hot kicked off and never heard from again? That's happened alot. And it always made for good TV.
Hell, perhaps the most famous clip from the show is CT running around with his shirt off after the fight with Adam yelling to "eat him".
Unless this fight happened behind the scenes with production, there's no reason not to let it play out, show her leaving, then show Amber arriving.

My bad. I forgot to proofread my phone earlier after I used voice text.
I don’t think the Nam situation was that much of a spoiler. It’s just a production note and I was curious on what exactly happened. That is just like Natalie from last season, production gave a stupid excuse for her leaving, but it was because she missed her period and found out she was pregnant. Lio gave his felt like he was in the boys home again living with the random people and couldn’t take it, but it came out that he was a recovering alcoholic and was going to fall into a relapse and decided to leave.
I wish production would be straight up with the viewers.

Just getting caught-up, agree with what most everyone said but a couple quick hitters:
-WTF do they put in the water in Romania? Is that where Chernobyl happened or something? Both the guy and the girl look like they’re from Suicide Squad. Damn.
-Way too many foreigners, BUT the Polish Jersey Shore dude is absolutely exactly what I want for a new addition. Hell if they had subtitles on that show I’d love to watch it. “This stranger on the telewision told us something” and telling Nani he picked her bc she’s got and he has popcorn muscles lol. I’m hoping because he got so much airtime that that means he stays a while. He’s awesome.
-Not sure why everyone giving Kyle the easy best remaining character title. Devin def gives him a run for his money IMO.
-Get these US Survivor people out, they all seem awful, and who the fvck could be dumb enough to write a damn list of ANYTHING on a reality show?
-Really hope all eliminations aren’t team v team, or we won’t get hall brawl. It’d be awesome if some were team and some were man v man and then woman v woman. Gotta make sure we get the black DE Brit against Fessy, want that dude to put him in the grave so bad.
-Y’all think there’s gonna be the same “you gotta win an elimination to run the final” stipulation? They didn’t mention it at all so far. If you were on the show would you expect that to be a halfway through the season twist and throw yourself in early or would you assume they’ve dropped it for this season?
So glad they got back to somewhere nice with pools and booze and hooking up. Looks like it’ll be a fun one, challenges look insane.

My prediction is that Nany gets shitcan hammered and bangs him, and we get some Nany/Kaycee fallout drama.

Kyle can actually be a semi-threat in the game, though. His motor never stops and he's actually quite good in finals and above average eliminations. Devin, while awesome as a character now, is really a physical joke and he knows it and so does everyone else.
Pure entertainment wise, I'd say they're about equal.

I like Devin more than I used to. But one edge I'd definitely give to Kyle is that his one liners and the shite he says seem to be more natural, whereas with Devin it always feels like he is trying to say something witty to get on TV. it doesn't feel genuine or organic at all.
I do like them both, but Kyle is far more entertaining for me than Devin, and it's not close IMO.
Devin also feels like he is just trying to become popular like John Banana and is essentially copying how he made that happen 15 years ago (just a little less aggressively toward women I guess).

It looks like they really went for fluency as a key for most of the foreigners.
The very nice and normal Belgian guy and the Swedish chick with the terrible laugh are more easily understood than Ashley, CT, Nicole the lesbian firefighter (tbh everyone is more easily understood than her).
Also the Romanian dude looks like a maniac but has so far been very relaxed, fit and friendly. Based on the lack of a freak out in the trailer and no reports of cast members being murdered and eaten, it seems like he actually is a nice and normal guy while looking a complete freak.
The Romanian chick looks like a literal clown and is overcompensating on her relatively light accent by trying to sound American which makes it a bit more jarring.
Honestly the only two people who don’t appear to be fluent are the Spanish guy, who is going to seduce every woman in the house, and Gabo the Polish guy. I suspect Gabo is being fed lines by production to make himself come off like more of a meathead, but in his interactions with Nam he really did come off as very dumb and easy to laugh at for comedic effect.
I know Ashley sleeps around but never expected her and Nelson to be a thing.
Between even more gay Vernon Davis, the survivor winner, and the UK football player, there are some real threats in the house.
Also the Survivor guys all had very good cardio. If the Nigerian girls continue to do well in terms of cardio, the vets are going to be in trouble because they all look weak besides Tori, who has definitely gained some weight as well. The guys seem to be tougher than usual while the girls are worse. Amber B is in for an ideal situation.
Reading about Nam, it appears that 3-4 people in the house had Covid. Nam was the only one who was symptomatic and had to leave and the others came back. The whole thing took 7-8 days between the first challenge and the elimination.
Not sure why that wasn’t explained to us as it isn’t remotely controversial. Most interesting thing to me was that only 3-4 people out 34 got covid living in close quarters. Since they started filming in early April, I bet no one even had the opportunity to be vaxxed.
Sucks for the nice Belgian guy and Michaela to finish second in the first daily and then get sent home, but that’s how the show breaks sometimes.
I do wonder if Hughie had a less famous partner if he would have been purged on Day 1.

It's not terrible. He is generally well liked and should fly under the radar. If she picks Fessy or CT they are most likely getting grabbed the next elimination and she is stuck with someone bad probably.
I thought the first ep was great. New people don't bother me. They just need to be entertaining. The problem they have had in the past is the new people they bring in have been bad. The new guy who was in love with Michelle in his interviews was hilarious.

I would expect it to pop up at some point as a twist. I think TJ likes it too much to go away completely, but if they are never going to strand someone without a 'skull' then it really seems pointless as well.

For anyone who wants to hear John's take on the Challenge, he's got a new podcast on Spotify. Yes, it's with The Ringer and Bill Simmons, which some may have an aversion to, but hearing from the man himself is pretty fun.

First episode he comes in pretty hot. Says he's not totally retired, but his last win took a lot out of him. Also addresses the conspiracy theory that the final was rigged for him to win.
Apparently he's also DJ-ing now along with his NBC hosting stuff. Whatever he does, he needs to be in the Challenge world in some form.
