Millie Bobbie Brown is a subpar actress.

she's ok, but there's a reason 90% of her career is confined to streaming.
Enola Holmes and Damsel are both perfectly fine movies that she carries.

I think with maturity she can become a good actress. But she's not there. She's too uncomfortable. It comes across in the performance. They're forcing roles on her as a hero and she's not nailing any of them. Stranger Things could be done with CGI honestly.

The movie was fine for a streaming option, but I wouldn't have felt I got my money's worth if I saw it at a theater.
The CGI was done exceptionally well, Chris Pratt was formulaic (but he nails the formula) and MBB simply did not work as being a teenager. Her acting was fine, but she looked like a young adult so the idea of casting her in that role was a bit ridiculous (her first time being "Elle" was around a decade ago). In the early scenes with the brother, her character looked like she should be recently graduated from college and starting her adult life, the dialogue seemed to support this (as there was no mention of her being left in high school). This made the transition forward in time into a real WTF situation as you try to understand how an adult is now in foster care only to have to piece together that she was in high school in the earlier sequence (likely even a freshman).
The story itself was okay, but the movie seemed geared to the YA and younger crowd (the Spy Kids set). The limited ads I had seen for it didn't lead me to think it was targeted at that demo.
All in all, not bad for a streaming service but definitely not a blockbuster.

Guess I’m in the minority but I enjoyed it.
It was fun, this board just thinks every movie should be Schindler’s List.

This tells me it’s super dog shite when you’re going to this well to defend it

If you wanna take it that way lol. Board just takes movies way too seriously, even for non serious flicks.
