From what I understand, they are splitting The Hobbit in two and adding a third that covers a lot of the stuff from the appendix in LoTR.
There's some great stuff in the appendix, so I'm excited to see what they are going to cover.

Trying to do The Silmarilion would be a bad idea. Sadness after sadness after sadness. People could not get the emotion that the books has. I doubt most people would like that story and it would be extremely hard to transfer to film.

The Story of Beren and Luthien would be a badass movie.

I have a hard time paying attention to your posts due to how much I love Jessica Biel. I lose all train of thought.

WTF I hated how this was two movies now it is three.
How the frick do you break this into 3 movies?
I really hope they mix in alot of the Silmarillion to fill up the time.

he also picked the wrong movie to split up you could easily have split up the LOTR into six movies each one book of them all. He did a good job doing one movie for each book but the hobbit is so much harder to break up.

The Children of Hurin could be broken up into a bad arse trilogy.

I haven't yet read a book edited by christopher tolkien but I have heard you may need to be carful about these books if you are a JRR fan there may be alot of editing goign on in it.
after I read all the LOTR books I'm going to read the Silmarillion then the hobbit then the LOTR all over again like I'm reading a history book.

Not really.
Once again, the original plan was for 1 hobbit and 1 bridge movie.
They went as far as taking time to write the bridfe then they suddenly dropped that idea and decided to spend some additional time on Things Unseen but known to have happened during the time of the the hobbit.
Now we get 3 movies on 1 freaking book. That is taking things too damn far. Money grubbers.
Hey, If they are great, I'll admit I was wrong but I have a feeling we are going to get 3 watered down movies.

If they show the White Council driving "the Necromancer", aka Sauron, out of Dol Guldur, which is what Gandalf disappears to go do during the Hobbit but we never actually read about, that would be pretty badass.

I'm not happy with this at all. Absolute milking to the utmost degree. Save the scenes for the Extended Editions instead trying to milk all the cash possible from us. The Hobbit has no business being a trilogy.

Jackson specifically mentions this in his comments.
I'm not hesitant at all, plus it's hard not to trust Jackson.
