I was just watching the episode over again. I think Phyllis is Erin's birth mother.
Hmmmmmm.... That makes a lot of sense. Good hypothesis

I loved Oscar shaking his head when Michael was talking to Angela about her boyfriend and Michael's quote about Gabe looking like a transvestite!!!

Pam leaves jim in the finale for her secret lover and new boss gob. How could she not fall for a guy in a 8000 doller suit, COME ON!

I have for the most part been a Will Ferrel fan, but so far I don't like his character on The Office at all. I hope they bring someone else in or focus on the ancillary characters.
Either way, Michael will be missed no matter what they do. Sad to see him go; hopefully he will return here and there

I'm pretty sure that Will Ferrel is only in 4 episodes, meaning next week is his last week. He's not going to be in the finale

Will Arnett as GOB as the new boss would be EPIC
This is what I want. Not just Will Arnett, but GOB as the new boss.
Also, I can't believe you guys didn't like this part as much as I did:

and after he takes the job he can say, "I've made a horrible mistake"

As far as Gabe being the Scranton Strangler don't forget his obsession with horror movies.

Even though you were a dick in the other thread, I have to say this adds to what we've been talking about.
Toby's comments at the Dundies were funny, but didn't make a whole lot of sense until these Gabe theories started being talked about. I think it's a long shot, but it would be hilarious if it turns out that way.

quote:My money's on Dwight taking over as manager. Michael's recommendation letter sealed it. At some point i think the rest of the office will probably rally around him getting the job
I get the feeling Andy will be named the new manager in the season finale. If Ferrell did anything in his time on the show, he made Andy more confident as a salesman and that may lead to him taking over for good. And I think that will setup Dwight vs. Andy for the remainder of the series
Theyve already casted other new characters going forward. I think these celebs are just smokescreens for Dwight eventually taking over and the new castmates filling in for Michael's departure, Dwight's promotion and maybe Gabe leaving over Erin

I can't wait for GOB to show up.

I have no idea what the hell they're attempting to do with Ferrell's character or why he was brought on in the first place. Usually you have an idea of what a character is or what he brings pretty quickly, but I still can't figure out what purpose he serves.
If anything, it just takes away from Michael leaving which seems stupid.
See my previous post on this. It was very intentional.
Ferrell's character is simply there as a plot device to contrast Michael Scott in a way that emphasizes Michael's good qualities.
Vickers is uptight and serious in his office dealings
Michael is fun loving
Vickers doesn't really care about his workers outside the office (see Pam's baby)
Michael, aside from Toby, truly loves his workers and everything about them
Vickers is a stick in the mud and hates "performing"
Michael relishes the attention and is a performer at heart
Vickers has no sense of humor (see Andy)
Michael has a great sense of humor (see Dundies skit)
That, ladies and gentlemen, is why Will Ferrell is on the show: to help his friend Steve Carell go out with a bang.

I just wish he would have pelted Toby with eggs or something.

well to me it just muddled up the whole thing.
I kept waiting for something to happen to him, or for them to advance his character somehow.
