But Patton Oswalt's voice just pulls me the frick out of it. He doesn't seem to be doing a characterquote:
Worst part of the show. Utterly takes me right out of it
Honestly, I thought the voice matched the personality of the character, as written.
Charles Dance basically played Burgess as Tywin Lannister. Did anyone spend the first episode waiting for him to gut an elk while scolding Alex about something?

quote:No, but then Charles Dance fit seamlessly into the cast. Oswalt, as the raven, did not.

Just finished and read the first 16 issues of the comic which the series follows.
So good from start to finish. Can't wait for more.

He’s not even voicing a character. It’s Patton Oswalt doing himself. He put some level of effort with Happy, but not here.

Payton is a big ole nerd. I doubt it was a lack of effort. My issue is that’s just the voice he uses when he does voice acting but he’s usually doing voice acting for kids shows. So it was a little off. Poor voice directing. Someone should have said something.
I blame Clem Fandango

I do not like Oswalt. I did not mind his voice as this series needed comic relief at certain times.
“Look for anything unusual.”
“HELLO! Said the talking pumpkin to the talking bird!”
He had his good moments, but I would just as soon not see Oswalt.

He wrote a new mini-series four or five years ago. It was the catalyst for the currently running line of Sandman-related books at DC.
The mini-series is good. Though I haven't read all of them, most of the new titles aren't great. Even the reboots of Lucifer od Books of Magic were kinda dull.

I had all the trades but gave them to a friend to read. I just read comics now on a site like Read Comics Online .com, or something like that.
Type in "read sandman online free" and there are tons of sites that have them. Caution, the websites are pop-up heavy

Netflix dropped a surprise extra episode to this season
It’s a hybrid of live action and animation

Thanks for the heads up. That's a weird story if it's the one I'm thinking about.

Wow, I just finished the Netflix series last night so I guess I’ll have a bonus? Kind of weird at the ending from the last episode… Will check it out

Those stories were great. I’d watch a Neil Gaiman anthology series in a heartbeat.
