Only season 1 though. Too bad they stopped doing these. I liked how they were a slow burn.

The Terror is an even better book FWIW. The show is alright but they made it too melodramatic. In the book, almost all of the drama was about how fricked they were in their survival situation as it continued to deteriorate. There were no BS rivalries because everyone was too maxed out to engage in BS

Yeah, based on a Japanese internment camp, if I recall correctly.

Season one is awesome. I remember the threads well on here. For whatever reason I couldn’t quite get into season two so I think I only ended up watching the first couple of episodes or so before I gave up on it.
But the first season is great. I really liked it a lot.

I haven't seen any of the netflix series but the book was great. I hate watching movies that botch the book.

Did the canning company really frick them as bad as they did in the show? The food is rotting way sooner than it should and it's giving them led poisoning.

Yes, this happened in real life
quote:
Subsequent expeditions up until the late 1980s, including autopsies of crew members, revealed that their canned rations may have been tainted by both lead and botulism. Oral reports by local Inuit that some of the crew members resorted to cannibalism are supported by evidence of cut marks and pot polish[clarification needed] on the skeletal remains of crew members found on King William Island during the late 20th century.[11][12]
