Happy to do it. Any excuse to talk zombies!

I'm wondering if every episode is 90 minutes.

Th pilot was great. The tank scene was impressive, I was sure they wouldn't kill him, but the situation looked pretty freaking bleak to say the least. Will be watching next week.

I hate that i have read the comics and know somewhat what should happen, but it didnt follow the comic to the T. The tank scene was awesome.

Yeah, I was screaming at my wife "I bet there is a fricking sewer hole, There has to be a fricking sewer hole." Then thank God the bottom hatch was open on the tank.

Best surprise in TV for me so far. I love this freaking show!!! Can't wait for next week. My Sunday lineup is getting crowded though.

It does suck having read the comics as far as the main twists and deaths probably won't change but it'll be cool to see the changes Darabont makes.
Is it true that the first season is just 6 episodes? Or is that just the first half of season 1? I'm hoping they make it to a certain point, that I don't want to spoil, before the end of season 1.

Okay, so I've avoided this thread so far since I haven't watched it yet. But what's the general consensus in here...good? Bad? Great?
Also, did anybody else's DVR frick up? I set this show to record earlier last week, and I set it to the "record all first run" thing. But when I went to check to make sure it was set (make sure it was red on my guide), it wasn't. So I was like WTF. So I manually hit it to record that show, and it was fine. But last night I noticed at about 10:00 that it hadn't recorded it, and when I checked my guide, it hadn't recorded it. No idea what the problem is because I had it set to record all new episodes (of which last night's was), as well as manually set that particular show to record.
Anybody else have a similar DVR frick up?

they're sure to show it again before next week. have you checked your tv guide to see when it's gonna be re-aired?
also check your DVR's history. most will tell you why a show didn't record. maybe you had a season pass that trumped this recording?

Yep, weirdly enough this happened to me too. I noticed just before 9 pm that it wasn't recording only because that channel is right above our HBO's and I was checking to make sure Eastbound and Down was on. I set our DVR to record first run episodes on like Wednesday or Thurs last week and for some reason it erased itself. I just got lucky and happened to notice at like T minus 5.

This happened to me as well. I set it to record first showings only, and it wouldn't turn red to record the show.
Cox has to mark shows as new episodes on their guide, and they failed to do so for the first run of the Walking Dead.
I'm wondering how many pissed off people checked their DVR today to see that it didn't tape.

Y'all are really worrying me with this DVR shite, I've been looking forward to watching this when I got home all day...

I do know the show will be replaying on AMC Friday night, Saturday night, and Sunday morning.

I could have swore I set it to record the all first runs of the series, then after the saints game i went to watch it and it wasn't there. I caught the 10:30 showing.

It wasn't listed as "new" on cox's guide for some reason

I liked how the voice on the radio when he was in the tank said...
Hey Dumbass...yah you in the tank

Maybe the old lady was cheating on the main character before shite got real, he said their relationship was pretty strained..

I was thinking about that. But they didn't really say how long the main guy was out of commission though. Maybe she wasn't cheating on him when he was alive and well, but cultivated a relationship with the partner over the hospitalization and the fleeing and what not.
