That's all too far reaching for me. Jack, seemingly okay, give Marcus' father a pep talk and then goes to his room and dies, so the kid can live and discover ALZ treatment. It just did not get to me.

Like I said, it’s a stretch but it’s how I perceived it.

Now that I think about it, they should have had Rebecca say "Miguel..." as if she's torn, knowing she can't stay with him.
And he says it's okay. We had our time.... and he let's her go.

Thought for sure this was going to happen but nope just a cheesy wine line and move along haha

Still…show seems to be crushing it down the stretch

I think the inclusion of Marcus' family story shoes that even on the worst single night in the Pearson history, not only was there good to come out of it (Alzheimer's treatment), but that even until he very end, Jack was forever touching people's lives for the better.

That was definitely the point of it. That and the lame attempt at making us think Deja was with someone else. I do get it, but it felt a bit heavy handed. I didn't hate it, but didn't love it either. However, I don't think the show would have suffered at all from its absence and then we could have had a few more minutes with Miguel and maybe an inclusion of baby Kyle with Jack.

I took from it that his Alzheimer’s research potentially helped Rebecca live a more fulfilling and extended life with the disease.

So jack died, but they got Rebecca for longer because that kid survived.

I didn't feel they implied that. I felt like it was for people after Rebecca. I felt he wasn't old enough to have discovered this till after Rebecca passed. Maybe I'm wrong, but I didn't feel like they really gave you much of a timeline. He seemed about Deja's age, which didn't seem old enough to have made this discovery.

He was around 10 when Jack died so definitely older than Deja but I also thought his discovery wouldn’t help Rebecca.

She's 1000X hotter closing in on 40, particularly in The Train than she ever was as a pop idol.

Yep.

She is special.

What happened to Malik’s fun baby?

I never liked the reason Jack died. He seemed in a good mood just walking around and just dropped dead?

His death was a weal point in the show. So non-dramatic for the show.

Oh he's fine, jk he's dead. If you insist on killing him off just have him die in the fire.

I thought they were going to go with an organ donor route, so Jack's death would literally save the kid

This crossed my mind, too.

He inhaled too much smoke and it caused his heart to stop.

Yep and he told the black guy in the coffee room that he was on his way to do some “tests”.

Tests probably would have revealed their were issues, but he never got a chance to get to the tests.

Agree with most here. I began this season Hate-Watching it, but the last few have been great…especially the train. Very well done. As usual, the Dr and William really brought it home

At this point, it would be foolish to think they don't have at least one more curveball up their sleeves in this last episode, but I can't decide where I think it's coming from.

Maybe a final flash forward for Randall to show that he goes on to become POTUS.

I’m thinking Kevin wins an Oscar for directing or screenplay for a story of their family he wrote or directed

I could totally see that. Nicely done.

Game day bump. The last episode should've been presented with limited interruptions and sponsored by Kleenex.

Missed opportunity.

I’m kind of surprised they didn’t go with a 2 hour finale but I guess they’ve told their story and didn’t have another hour left of filler

The Train & this last one should've been a 2H finale, for sure.
