and if I remember correctly, when he was getting ready to go to Vietnam they mentioned he had some sort of heart thing. I don't remember what though.

I’m thinking Kevin wins an Oscar for directing or screenplay for a story of their family he wrote or directed
I could totally see that. Nicely done.
Everybody says that. I really don't want it to be a story of their family. That's just too cheesy for me. I want the Oscar to have happened during the big time jump (which we know it did) and for Rebecca to have been able to see it. But it being on their family? That's about as heavy handed as the story of the kid later discovering the Alzheimer's drug. Not what I'm hoping for.
I think we will see Randall planning a run for Pres. I can't wait to see what the Oscar is for. Kevin has never been a writer, so I'm not so sure. I think Nicky was writing something at one point, so maybe Kevin acts in it and produces it?
I really don't see what they could do with Kate. But then we know she's coming back from London. So I'm guessing she's some big name in education for the blind through music now. But that's just not that believable.

Not sure what tonight holds. I just want to enjoy it.
It's weird when something you love and/or hate comes to an end.
I could have quitted this show long ago, but once I start watching I tend to finish.
Still loving how last week went.

We are going to name him William.

Kind of disappointed with this episode. Definitely a step down from last week.
Was hoping for some flash forwards to see what the Big 3 (really don’t care about Kate) did in the future.

Real lame finale
I was definitely expecting them to show what happened in the future. Not some 6 feet under type thing but at least get a glimpse in a final ten minute montage

I agree that this finale was very disappointing. The last 2 episodes were just fantastic. Supposedly, this was supposed to feel like a warm hug. It felt slow (except there was always a commercial) and sad. Every person I know was hoping for more flashforwards, maybe ending with all the kids having Thanksgiving with the hat. We got NO flash forwards at all. Just the big 3 sitting there and saying what they’re doing. The Jack/Rebecca scene at the end was nice, but I hated it just dying, like Rebecca was.
The Jack scene with the boys shaving was cute. But boys really don’t shave in jr high. It didn’t seem like it belonged here. The line about wanting to slow down was good. The Randall/Deja scene was good. The swinging at the beginning was sweet.
But overall, not what I was hoping for.

It was a safe finale. Wasn't great wasn't awful and honestly given how some shows have ended of late that's about all we can ask for

Definitely meh on this for me as well
Very safe too as someone else put it.
No real Emotional heft left for the show to tug on
Always good to get William on the show though

She’s the biggest of them all!

Very safe finale but I feel like the last month was a very long finale and last night was just the bow.
It’s hard to wrap everything up with so many characters but they did a good job IMO

Kind of disappointed with this episode.
For the past two weeks, both Mandy & Milo have been saying in interviews that the Train episode was the end of the rollercoaster, and that this last one was going to be a neat bow on the whole thing.
More than anything, I'm just glad that they got an opportunity to tell their entire story from start to finish, just like Fogleman envisioned when he pitched it to NBC, 7 years ago. Not every show gets to say that, and the ones that go longer, if they're being honest, were likely made up along the way. DF also said that with a new generation of Pearsons coming up, there's more than enough material to keep telling the story, but that wasn't their goal. This was all about Jack, Rebecca & their kids.

Deja wisdom FTW. The moment she sat down w/ Randall on the cabin steps, you knew she was about to drop knowledge.

Beth’s worst case scenarios were pretty awesome.

Of all of the character dynamics, Beth's & Randall's Worst Case Scenario game may be my favorite. Those were always epic, epic scenes, particularly this last one.

This is what Mr BB said when he walked in during the last 10-15 min. I was like "that's how its ending?!" and told him it was the last one and he said it seemed like another episode....and he didn't even watch it.
I liked that they didn't spend too much time on the funeral but I was hoping for some sort of flash forward of them "doing what Rebecca wanted"
As always, Beth is the best.

the casting for the adult actors was so crazy spot on. She looked like teen Deja and spoke like her. The other adult/older kids were right on too.

Yeah, they crushed it every way possible in the casting, particularly Beth's & Randall's kids.
Beth & Sophie doing their impressions of their husbands as they figured what they were saying during the talk about Rebecca's care was a highlight of the season.
