I like the meta aspect of it and dude playing Simon Williams was very good as Black Manta. I’ll give it a full episode at least. Can’t be any worse than Ironheart which I didn’t even get halfway through the first episode of.

I’m not upset he is black but find it a curious choice.

At what point does the obvious blackwashing of characters start to bother people? Couldn't someone with even a hint of creativity and imagination, create a great black superhero character that would also be a great movie?
Black people, of all people, should be pissed that Hollywood takes white characters and turns them black. It's a legit slap in the face and insulting.
I'm not mad, just tired. And this character looks awful, an even bigger slap in the face, turning a shite character into a black guy.

It does look good but I’m cautious with that. Marvel makes good trailers and the show ends up sucking. Ie Secret Invasion.

The race swap doesnt bother me. Samuel L. Jackson nailed Nick Fury for instance. What bothers me is the motivation to do it is not because that was the most talented guy that fit the character

I usually shite all over these things but this looks really good. I was also a huge fan of Moon Knight which got whacked.

This series looks like a joke, almost as bad of a shite on the original character as what they did to Namor.

Black Nick Fury was established in the Ultimate Marvel universe, so it wasn't some shite made up for a check list.

If you don’t do the research, you’re bound by ignorance. The guy is a great actor. IMDB also helps on his previous work, but hey this isn’t the expert movie analysis hate on black actors thread either.
