Looks funny to me, but I'm a big fan of Apatow. 86% currently on Rotten Tomatoes.

Dumbest statement ever. McCarthy is garbage.

87% on rotten tomatoes for a comedy. It's gonna be good

Is it supposed to be funny because she is fat but all these guys really want her? Melissa McCarthy might have been the better choice because she is far funnier.
What in the real life frick? No she isn't. Not even close. McCarthy can have more charisma on screen, but in the comedies where she is the star, she mostly overblows it.
The movie isn't supposed to be funny because she's fat. It's supposed to be funny because it's a comedy.
And you can dislike Amy Schumer's comedy, but if you dislike her because of this overall sentiment:

I've yet to see a funny female stand-up comedian. There are plenty funny in interviews and movies, but none doing stand-up.
ETA: she certainly has a style of comedy that isn't for everyone. It is a mix of feminism with a biting wit that is similar to her ex-boyfriend's, Anthony Jeselnik. And Jeselnik is one of my favorite comedians.

After hearing you say that, I think you and I would get along just fine.

To each his own. I find McCarthy hilarious in the movies I listed. I've said it before - nothing on earth is more subjective tha humor. The Amy Schumer fans have gravitated to this thread.

I had never heard of Jeselnik, so I youtubed him. We definitely have different tastes in humor because I didn't laugh once. My favorite stand-up comedians are Jim Gaffigan, Brian Regan, Bill Burr, and Kevin Hart off the top of my head.
I would love to see a funny female stand-up comedian. Please recommend some. Schumer's stand-up was awful. The feminism shtick is just annoying and offensive to me as a straight male.

Well Any is funny so this movie should be good.

2 things:
1. Please link any portion of her stand-up where she advances a feminist agenda, and being a slit is not a feminist agenda.
2. Even of she did have feminist jokes, why does that annoy or offend you as a straight male?

That's not how it works.

Love these guys, too. Kevin Hart gets hated on too much.

Maria Bamford, Tig Notaro, Anjelah Johnson, Iliza Shlesinger.

I listened to a coupl of those female comedians. Didn't laugh once. I figured it out though. I pretty much exclusively like observational humor in my stand up, and I will never have a female's perspective nor will I ever fully understand it. So if they do focus on observational humor, it won't connect with me.

Chelsea Peretti has a similiar comedic style and is much funnier, both in her stand-up and on Brooklyn Nine-Nine- hell, her work on those stupid "World's Dumbest" shows on TruTV is funnier than anything Schumer has ever done.
I really wish she took off before this unfunny slag.

I'm all for seeing good movies, regardless of what the subject matter is or who the actors are.
Hell I hate Tom Cruise but Edge of Tomorrow is one of my fav movies of last year. The same goes for Melissa McCarthy. I can't stand her, but she made a damn good and funny movie in Spy.

MM is freaking hysterical. Heat, her part in Bridesmaids, and Spy are all hilarious. Tammy was bad but it had some funny moments because of her. Her show Mike & Molly is not even remotely funny, but that is not the way she acts in movies.
