I was rolling when they were DJing at the party. I think I may have been the only one in the theater that recognized them. That's sad.

I saw it last night and it was aweseome..
1 question tho *SPOILER ALERT*
What happened to Tron at the end? Did he die after he clashed with Clue? I saw he fell into the water.

Probably not. You could see the lights on his clothing change to blue. They left it ambiguous. If the movie makes money he will be in the next one.

Awesome. Loved every second.
Though I have a feeling this one will be like Avatar and be one of those "Cool to hate" movies.

I'm not sure what some people are expecting out of this movie.
I saw it and liked it. It's not a cinematic magnum opus or anything. But it's a solid sequel to Tron.
My only gripe with it is that the character of Tron himself is kind of given short shrift here.
I find the praise for the soundtrack kind of curious, though. I was going into it hearing about how great and innovative it was... and I kept waiting for the innovative parts to show up. I know there's a lot of enthusiastic Daft Punk fans here, and I WANT to be one of them... but... just not hearing it. It's not moving me. One day later, and I can't recall any of the music in my head.

is it worth seeing in 3d?

Either way would be fine. The 3D adds a little, but nothing mind blowing

No, the 3D sucked. Like a few have said, it looked more layered than anything else. Seeing it in 2D won't ruin anything, it'll still look cool. CGI is the best thing about the movie. Music was cool, but sounded very lifted/inspired from the main Inception music.
Overall, I thought this movie sucked. I saw Black Swan yesterday, and just wanted to watch something I could stuff popcorn into my mouth to...I really didn't even think it was THAT good. Writing blew, plot points just solved/jammed in for convenience. Jeff Bridges brought some heft to a scene or two, but mostly it was like watching a combination of The Dude mixed with Obi-Wan. I thought with the new technology available, and some more in depth story telling, they could have really explored the new Grid and the people in it. Disappointed they didn't. It seemed like the most important thing to the writers was to leave it open enough to sell a sequel...weird, I know. I was a fan of the original, and it was cool seeing the updated versions of everything, just wasn't nearly enough to save a forgettable blockbuster.
If I knew what an Iso was, and how it related to the rest of everything else, maybe that would've helped.

I am a huge fan of the original and will go see the new one soon, but I can not decide to see it in 3D or not. Unlike many on this board I am a 3D fan. I thought Avatar was amazing in 3D but it does not sound as if the 3D in Tron was up to par. What say you?

Save your money, it'll still look just as pretty in 2D. The only thing I really noticed from the 3D was how dark it mostly made everything.

If I said "horribly disappointing" would that've been better?

Was the guy who took out the evil Flynn really tron? I thought he got out from the last movie?

First time seeing a movie in 3d and was shocked at how tinted the glasses were. I kept raising them to see the difference.
Thought the movie was as billed.

I don't have any issues with the 3D in this movie. It looked just like a 3D movie is supposed to look.
I didn't find that the 3D made the movie appear dark. The movie's environment IS dark. The original Tron is dark, too.
A lot of people on this board don't like 3D. I'm not one of them. I would be the first to tell you if I didn't feel that the 3D in this movie was up to par. It was par. It was not extraordinary. It can be seen in 2D just fine... but 3D does not lower its presentation in any way whatsoever.

I just got back from seeing it tonight and here is my take on it all.
*SPOILERS*
The 3-D isn't ground breaking but it added some depth which was nice. I don't typically mind 3-D but I understand why some people do. I you wanna pay the extra for it then go for it.
Also I do see the potential for more story lines as well. But this is a PG rated Disney movie. You have to understand that many kids will be seeing this and they probably wouldn't like it if there were this complicated story line. It would be cool for that deep story plots but I get why it wasn't there.
As someone stated earlier they really didn't play off the whole computer thing. Other than a few minor references they didn't really address it.
Daft Punk did a fantastic job. I really felt like they captured the feeling of the movie. I also really liked their cameo as the DJs in the club.
I don't have any major complaints about it and I really enjoyed it. I went out and found the original about a week ago and watched it (never seen it before). So maybe I was just really excited about it. Also the dark haired girl = HAWT

dude gets it
the journey/arcade scene early in the movie was a nod/rip-off of the MAME community who did almost that exact same thing in a viral vid that floated around the internet in the early 2000s so i thought that was also cool.
in short, i grew up with the original tron, and the only thing i missed in this new version was the inclusion of the tanks which, in addition to the recognizers, were my favorite vehicles in the old one.
again..to those hating on this..what did u expect? the matrix?
