He hasn't been in too many movies that showcase his ability much but :

Oscar Isaac

His performance in Ex Machina and Inside Lewellen are pretty awesome.

Hell yeah. Ex Machina is one of my favorite movies in recent years

Came to post this.

Also Idris Elba could read an instruction manual and I would watch it.

Jonathan Tucker. Wife and I just finished bingeing "Kingdom" on Netflix over the last few weeks and Tucker absolutely stole the show. Jay Kulina is one of the most dynamic characters in TV, and Tucker did a fantastic job portraying all the emotions of the character in that show. Going through his filmography I see he was in a few movies I've watched, but nothing he's starred in. I may have to make it a point to watch more of his work.

Travis Fimmel - Amazing job as Ragnar and its cool to rewatch and catch all his mannerisms and slight changes in facial expressions.

Timothy Olyphant - Pretty much money in everything he does.

Would be my answer, but I would also add that Walton Goggins is great in everything I've seen him in.

Hmm. Tough category because so many actors get labeled "underrated" so frequently that they actually become overrated.

Someone with a bunch of noms that never had a career blossom into a snap-his-fingers blockbuster superstar is Jon Hamm. Kinda thought he would graduate from TV to film easily, but I don't know if he's too old or too pigeonholed or made some poor script choices. He's good in drama, comedy, everything.

Simon Pegg is a good actor that's been pigeonholed (mostly by choice). Feels like a guy who could come out of left field and win a Screenplay or Supporting Actor Oscar with the right movie.

Tim Blake Nelson
John Turturro
