re: Yellowstone is really starting to suck

When he decided to leave, Rip was going to take him to the train station, but Kacey was the one who gave him the ride and let him walk.
when they first talked about branding i was under the impression it was done to Yellowstone Lifer wranglers. Not each and everyone that come through. Which I think they messed that up when they out of the blue branded Bingham.
Jimmy wears the brand, so it will be interesting to see what happens if he does try to leave. I am waiting to see what happens with the scene where Rip is explaining to him the difference between weekend rodeo and rodeo for a career. They showed that clip early on in the season previews.

IIRC the tax breaks in Utah expire after three years, hence the move to another state.
It has already been renewed for season 4, and Sheridan says he has a plan to take it through season 6 and then end it.
Their filming window is pretty short - starts in summer and ends in October. Not sure what, if any, impact WuFlu will have on them doing season 4.
(edit) You already mentioned this... I didn't read through the thread before responding.

I binged the first two season + 3 episodes of S3... I enjoyed it for what it is and wasn't sure if the binge vs waiting a week (+ soooo many commercials) diminished my enjoyment of it..

Next season the caldera goes off,

Would be more interesting, and frankly a little more realistic, than a couple things going on in the plot right now
A couple things that are straight bullshite that nobody has mentioned... Dutton Ranch is supposed to be the biggest ranch in Montana. Did I dream that or was that mentioned in a previous episode early on? Well they just revealed that it’s 50,000 acres so that’s bullshite. I’d bet that there are ranches in Montana that are 3 or 4 times that size. I’ve been on ranches in Wyoming that are 150,000+. Know somebody really well that owns 90,000 and rents another 100,000.
They also offered $10,000/acre? What the frick? I haven’t looked recently, but even with all the nice facilities and what not, it’s worth MAYBE 15-20% of that.
Just saying, if you want to even try, make the ranch 250,000 acres and offer $2000.
There’s a rant from somebody that deals with agriculture land every day.

Great show. Plus I live in the area. Sit back and enjoy the ride.

Who gives a F about Jimmy rodeoing? Pointless side plot fluff. Although I could see the side plot being made more interesting, right now it’s just fluff.
I was actually laughing when Jimmy and the old dude were damn near in tears talking about how much they missed the rodeo. Like it was a dead child or something.
And how the hell does Jimmy heal from a broken back and hip replacement faster than Beth can shed a black eye?

Possibly in the top ten best first seasons IMO. 2nd season was great with some tics towards the end.
If you made it this far, you are still in the dumb enough to continue watching demographic.
That show sucked early in season 1.

See, that’s actually believable. Baws sit around every day talking about how much they miss playing football, too old, old injuries, etc. And ranch hands are just baws with cowboy hats, so they talk about rodeo.
Agree on the Beth black eye shite. I mean even if we are just picking right up in S3 a couple weeks after S2, that shite would be healed in a month max. shite Jimmy should still be in the hospital or wearing one of those abdominal casts at least.

We loved Beth at first, but its gone way overboard, trying too hard and gotten old. Of course she’s been more subdued last few episodes.

Somebody is about to die. It better not be Rip.

No way. Then the writers would lose one of the 5 minutes of the show that’s actually interesting.

But it was done on the reservation. Same rules may not apply.
Reservations are subject to the same federal laws that enforce ethical treatment of patients across the US.
There is no plausible explanation for that scene. It was completely stupid and poorly researched. It was one of the most egregious cases of poor writing I can think of.

The abortion botch is one of the most unbelievable storylines they’ve ever added. As if, during that whole process, they would’ve never mentioned to Beth what was actually going to happen to her.
Thought the same thing. Looked it up. Sterilization of girls as young as 15 without their full knowledge wasn’t uncommon in Indian reservations as recent as about 20-30 years ago. So that part may actually carry some water

They wouldn’t have done it on a white kid and it was still a contrived plot device.

FIFY. think Ripley in the first "Aliens". They've turned Beth into a farce. She's so over the top "badass bitch woman" at this point that its farcical.

guessing it's either the old man's "boy" or one of the big shot lawyers

I know the offer was for 50,000 acres but I really thought in previous episode it had been said Dutton Ranch was 500,000 acres. I may be wrong but seems like I remember that figure.
Also John Dutton, in one episode, said that the ranch is the size of Rhode Island which is 776,000 acres.

The old man, his boy, or any of the lawyers wouldn't hurt my feelings...
Who does Kayce rope around the neck in his truck? Saw it on previews.. Prolly the dude that Rip cold-cocked and threw back over the fence? That scene was funny as hell...
