The actor playing Link will probably be 17 when filming begins which is the age of older Link in OOT. So I see them skipping the kid stuff from it, unless we see another link casting. But “adult” link is what this looks like it’s based on.

I would rather have him be ganondorf. Who turns into a beast. But I’d rather him have a human side so he’s not cgi all the time

Thats what I meant. I've just always called him Gannon regardless. The encouraging thing is the last Zelda game (Tears of the Kingdom) was my favorite version of the character so hopefully they write him like that.

Yeah, you’re probably right. I can’t see them doing OOT storyline without including the young Link portion. I just think OOT would be a good one for the movie because the flow of the story made for a great introduction to the world of Hyrule that would be easy to follow for moviegoers that were unfamiliar with Zelda lore.
Wouldn’t be surprised if it was a completely original storyline for the movie though. Especially if they need the story to wrap up in one movie because the studio wasn’t greenlighting it as a multi-film project from the get go.

And they may just call him Ganon to make it easy. Which is fine. But him having a human side makes him a more interesting character imo. Not sure they’ll do any of the newer versions of the characters, but OOT being their most popular game tells me they will be rolling that way. We’ll see.

quote:Agreed. Which is why I think it might be a combination of OOT and the very first Zelda. No time travel. Just Link going against Ganondorf. Who will turn into Ganon. Keep it simple. l think a lot of the designs will be based on OOT. And definitely the music. If they don’t include OOT music, the gaming community is gonna lose it. Lol.

And none of it was from me or the dude I replied to, Andy.

He plays in Son of a Critch which Netflix just added a couple weeks ago. He seems ok to me.

They could definitely base the world aesthetic on BOTW/TOTK

Can we get a leak of his audition footage? The "Hyah!", "Hyaa!", and "Eee-yah!"s must have been on point.

My kid said he doesn't have blonde hair, and I pointed out, "He doesn't have pink hair, either."

This seems intentional. Very intentional.

Im sure Zelda will be as masculine as they can possibly make her. Theres nothing Hollywood hates more than traditional gender roles that are aligned with the general biological differences between men and women.
They won't make Zelda look or act manly. The key will be whether they make her a "girl boss" consistent with her character in the games or "girl boss" according to libtard modern writers.
Actual game "girl boss" Zelda: Intelligent, level headed, knows what's going on, a good planner, handy with a bow if she needs to be. She's refined, graceful, intelligent. Exactly what you'd expect out of a respected Princess.
Worst Case "modern audiences" scenario: Zelda is better than Link at basically everything, including with a sword. They'll put in some scene where they duel or something and she wins easily. She'll save him from danger repeatedly. He's presented as dumb to make her look smart. He's presented as weak to make her look strong, etc.
And of course despite the name, Link must be the hero of the story, he's the main character, this isn't a a partnership of equals. She's obviously critically important to the story but it is Link's story. Modern writers seem to be incapable of letting a male hero be the clear protagonist anymore.
Normally I'd be worried but Zelda is Nintendo's most prestigious franchise. It may not be as famous or as best selling as Mario or Pokemon, but Zelda is their prestige vehicle. I don't think they are going to cheapen it.

Good lord. You have to stop.
If you go through a checklist of 100 things for every character im sure you can find something wrong with them.

That was never going to happen despite what all the social justice warriors and pro-trans crowd demanded. Nintendo is a Japanese company, and all the things accepted in the US are decidedly not as readily accepted in Japan.

This is spot on. Link needs to be the hero here. Zelda can be awesome without upstaging his journey.

quote:it’s possible. But with OOT you get a range of Zelda fans of all ages. If they base the aesthetic on breath of the wild, you’re missing an opportunity to base it on the most iconic game of the series. I don’t think it would be a smart move. And they’re definitely going to have Link wearing the green. Which yeah, I know you can get that outfit later in breath of the wild. But it’s an unlockable. What I hope they don’t do is try to do some kind of mash up. Involving too many games. Silent Hill did this. We’ll see.
They could definitely base the world aesthetic on BOTW/TOTK

Good points. I personally went from Zelda and Zelda 2 on NES to BOTW and TOTK. I missed all the games in between.

I saw the original live action Super Mario Bros at the theater. Good to see Nintendo is more caring with it’s properties now.
