That 93 show was great. You had Rage and Tool way down the list. They both were not well known at the time and played early in the day, but everyone loved them. You could tell big things were ahead.

Saw that one too here in Charlotte. Those were the two opening bands on the main stage here.

It got moved in ‘94 to Deltona, which was closer to my home in Jax. Couple of buddies and I were gonna go but a massive storm came through the night before and wreaked so much havoc on the grounds it had to be cancelled. Sucked.

as God is my witness, a 100% true story. the second lolla added houston just west of town on some farmer's land; (first lolla was dallas only).

we left with plenty of time to make it but we got stopped MILES from the ONE exit in the right lane with stand-still traffic.

passing lane was still zooming.

after about 20 minutes i pulled out of traffic (along with the other car in our group) and we went down the road to the next exit, turned around and drove back to the exit the other direction.

ZERO CARS. we literally merged from the ramp into the line of traffic going to the venue from the other direction. i remember we kept 'thumbs up-ing' each other in the car and it crossed my mind that 100,000 lolla fans coming from houston couldn't figure this out.

the kicker came later when some other friends (who left well ahead of us) finally showed up midway through the show and said they just got there.

eta fricking waze. you couldn't get away with that now.

imma watch that now and see if i'm in it.

Eta 25% of that video was them sitting in traffic.

No siouxsie performance?

As God as my witness I have zero recording of ministry being the headliner.

None.

I would have been the farm it would have been Soundgarden or pearl jam.

See my comment above. I have no recollection of ministry being the headliner.

Almost forgot about Jim rose circus too.

Ministry came on before Chili Peppers. They had a stipulation they would only play after the sun went down.
