First off, It's my fricking opinion. I'll reserve the right to deem something awesome, tired, amazing, shitty, boring, stupid, radical, bodacious, bogus, gnarly or overplayed based on nothing more than my feeling at that particular time.
To answer you question I like Zeppelin, despise Stairway.
To expound on my Alabama Shakes opinion: I heard the song "Hold On" and thought it was great. Neat sound, good lyrics, good vocals etc. I'm in a constant search for good new music. This fit the bill. Bought the album. Had some good ones, some shitty ones. Overall decent album. The band becomes popular. Good for them. They're on the radio, Leno, Letterman, yada yada. They're playing Hold On more times a day than Brittney's eating Krispy Kreme. They're living the dream. I hear nothing new. Lose intrest. Not thier problem. It's really not a problem at all. shite happens. Fast forward a few months and I post my opinon on a message board. Low in behold there are some people that are not in fact tired of the Alabama Shakes. They get sand in their respective poons. Life goes on.

FWIW that song you posted is great. If their new stuff is rocking like that I'll plant my arse back on the Shakes bandwagon. They are certainly talented.

Ease up LSUBalls. I was merely pointing out that not liking a band because their song is overplayed is a pretty bad reason. There are tons of amazing bands that have songs that are overplayed. You're entitled to enjoy whoever you want for whatever reason.
And I didn't get sand in my poon, it is nice and clean

I think they're good. I saw them at a festival. They're definitely talented, but I have never understood all the praise they get as if they are the best band out there now. Good, but overrated, IMO.

all about context. ive had plenty of bands that were just worn out for me for that reason.
thats not saying i dislike someone for being popular (although that crowd was awful) but if i hear something a million times, sometimes it does lose its charm. just like i wouldnt want to eat my favorite meal 100 times in a row.
in this case... still a shakes fan. really hoping they grow musically on this next effort though. you could tell they were a bit raw/green, but for where they were in their career it was a fantastic effort.

I'm kind of glad I couldn't make it based on what everyone has said about the crowd.
One of my buddies went and he's an Ole Miss grad (after failing at LSU) that matches people's description of the crowd almost to a T. I can hang with him, but 300 of him would drive me bonkers.
