Not sure I can, but will attempt.
Here Comes Your Man
Hoodoo Gurus - Come Any Time
Camper - Pictures Of Matchstick Men
And a seriously underappreciated Always Saturday by Guadalcanal Diary
But the best contender is probably Punk Rock Girl by The Dead Milkmen.
What a great year.

Wiki says it debuted on MTV in January 1989, so I'd say yes

Charted in January 89, released in 88
"Since its inception in 1981, MTV has maintained an annual yearbook of videos that make an impact and define the times—or, as the network characterizes them on its website, “the biggest, best, most memorable music videos.” For 1988, the 10 videos so honored include Michael Jackson’s “Dirty Diana,” Whitney Houston’s “So Emotional,” Bobby McFerrin’s “Don’t Worry, Be Happy,” and a gritty, low-budget video for “Punk Rock Girl” by Philadelphia’s Dead Milkmen, filmed at Eastern State Penitentiary."

At least you can admit you were wrong, I'll give you credit for that

What I am stirring, it's literally in the 1988 MTV Music Yearbook. I even included a reference. I haven't "stirred" on this forum in years, you are still for some reason upset about it, but I'm stating facts.

Saw Camper Van open for 10,000 Maniacs at McAllister Auditorium in 1989. Great concert.

They've cancelled on me twice up here in Chi, for Covid reasons... Finally coming back in May (B2B with Crowded House)... Unfortunately, it's at City Winery.. not my favorite venue.
