Bush is somewhat washed up... Their shite is played out. Used to be a huge fan back in the day, but pretty boring to me now

Bet you wish that it WAS Jane's Addiction, now!

just kidding.... Bush was cool when they first came out, but it seems like Rossdale is more known as "Gwen Stefani's less-successful husband" than for his music career over the last 15 years

Also, if you have any pull, I think Third Eye Blind would sell out in a flash despite the fact that Jenkins is a turd and half the band isn't the same.

Honestly, if people have suggestions for bands to bring into BR, make threads about them. He reads this board.

To be fair, your friend's job is to make money for the Varsity. Coolness factor will always be secondary.

That's an opinion that I'm sure a lot of people will share. But they were still a HUGE band in their hayday and sold over 12 million records or something like that

I definitely like the effort and direction.

The Varsity used to pull in similar types of acts back "in the day"... if they are getting back to that, I look forward to returning for more concerts...

What happened to Chris? Is he no longer in charge of booking acts? Who is the new guy?

Well, I guess you can hold out hopes that they get an opener who will blow them off the stage, which tends to happen with Bush.

It's a step in the right direction IMO

It's at least SOMETHING different

There's going to be shows like the flaming lips, and there's going to be shows like bush

Gotta please everyone

I don't see how Bush could be bad for the varsity. They were a good 90's band and just put out a new album. I'd go see them.

I figured the "big announcement" would be more along the lines of "third tier festival act one song having on cellphone commercial band!!!"

Also, if the answer to this tread is "Bush", it should be fricking anchored.

Agreed, what a disappointment. By the way to whoever said third eye blind I couldn't agree more, would definitely go see them. Bush? No thanks
