I’ve always liked Dire Straits, I remember when Brother in Arms came out.
To clarify, I was 12 and remember the first three songs of that album.
Just started listening to the rest of the album and was surprised how laid back the rest of the album is.
I was like, oh yeah!! Let’s go work out at the gym……and after walk of life it’s-let’s sit in the hot tub and sip wine

Ride Across the River and The Man's Too Strong are both fantastic songs.

I do like the groove to the rest of album for sure, just such a mellow shift from the first three tracks.

Your latest trick, Why worry. The entire album is gold. That blues shite is awesome to just sit back and chill to. I have a CD of that album that I got very early in the CD timeframe. I have played that thing a million plays.

Mark Knopfler has made some great sounds

As great as they are, "Walk of Life" is one of the most annoying songs ever released by a major act.

One of my favorite Dire Straights songs and as mentioned the entire album is great.

Now it's past last call for alcohol
Past recall has been here and gone
The landlord he finally paid us all
The satin jazzmen have put away their horns
And we're standing outside of this wonderland
Looking so bereaved and so bereft
Like a bowery bum when he finally understands
The bottle's empty and there's nothing left
I don't know how it happened
It was faster than the eye could flick
But all I can do is hand it to you
And your latest trick
Such a great chill'n song
Past recall has been here and gone
The landlord he finally paid us all
The satin jazzmen have put away their horns
And we're standing outside of this wonderland
Looking so bereaved and so bereft
Like a bowery bum when he finally understands
The bottle's empty and there's nothing left

Such a great chill'n song

I love Dire Straits, but Money for Nothing is one of the worst songs in rock history.
Walk of Life sucks too.
Walk of Life sucks too.

I loved that song, and had it on cassette (which had the extended intro). I'd never heard the shorter version until I went to a friend's house and he had it on a single. I couldn't figure out where the front end of the song went. Either version is amazing...but love the extended intro especially.
