I disagree. Not only are several artists in rock n roll HOF that didn’t write their own songs, some of the iconic song in music history are covers. It was very common years back.

Get the frick out with this shite. George Strait is the man, there will never be another one like him. And show me an artist who writes every one of their hits. I can tell you this, not many artist can just walk up on stage and put on a show without running around on stage.

His staff before the Pure County album was solid gold.

He has the nashville machine behind him. He isn't a song writer or can pick a guitar, so he isnt in the same league as Cash, etc. But I still love George and he works his arse off.

It's just personal preference, like all music really.
I love George but he isn't my favorite country artist. He might make my top 10 or 15. I prefer Conway, Merle, Waylon, Alan, Gary Stewart, DAC, Gene Watson, Johnny, Statler Brothers, etc.
