I can't believe I am putting this in print but that was one of the best concerts I have ever been to. Axl's voice was on point all night & Slash might be the most underrated guitar player of all time. They were on fire last night. Great set list. Simply an amazing show from start to finish. The Cult was good as well.

I was underwhelmed by the cult - I think they just can't carry a crowd quite that large. Gnr was simply on point. Slash was as good as I expected and every bit worth watching and duff seems like he's still 30 out there. Axl was the surprise to me as his voice was great and the energy close to the stage where we were sitting was electric. One of the best shows I've ever seen. That rendition of civil war might have been the best I've ever heard that song.

His voice was starting to go out during Paradise City but I'll cut him some slack considering it was at the end of a 2 1/2 hour performance.
I noticed that too, but I will give him and the rest much much credit for a helluva show. I am so pleased they resurrected themselves from that shite-show I saw in 92. I would have never guessed I would have ever seen a fantastic G&R show. Now I may die in peace.

I have to agree. It was a great concert.

I think a lot of music fans today are put off by the giant stadium shows. Are there any modern day rock acts that are selling out 50,000+ seat arenas these days?
Rock is dead.
Kenny Chesney can sellout a big arena.

Oddly enough, I've heard interviews with Axl speaking about the current state of rock. It's not that rock is dead but more the fact that labels don't really have an interest in dealing with bands these days. It's more profitable for them to deal with solo artists instead. The labels often times have them working with in house producers and writers, so it's much easier to create something they can promote sell and turn a profit on. The days of artist development are long gone. Record labels don't want to invest the money into the methods that it traditionally took to develop a band.

How lazy do you have to be as a person to not even plug your guitar in and yet call yourself a musician?

I have gotten multiple texts from friends at the Jerry World show going on right now who say they are killing it again. The full YouTube footage of the NOLA show is unreal. I am still in so much shock how good they were Sunday night at the Superdome.

Seems to be the case with every show on the tour. I'm happy they put in the work to make this tour a huge success. I'll be the first one to buy the DVD when it comes out

So am I. Since I woke up Monday morning, I've been watching the videos on my phone every chance I get and tonight I'm watching the full show on youtube. It's great reliving that incredible experience Sunday night.
One thing I didn't notice Sunday that I caught on the youtube video...after Axl carries that high note on "This I Love", the crowd goes wild and even Axl can't hold back his smile. He's obviously worked hard to get his voice and body in shape and to see it pay off and crowd appreciate it must overwhelm even someone with his confidence.

Her name is Katarina Benzova. She does a lot of the photography and filming for Guns, but she also works with other bands and musicians. Here's her Instagram for anyone who wants to check out her work. LINK

regardless I am bucked for tonight. I remember being around 8 years old watching welcome to the jungle on MTV. I always knew it would be on just before 6 as it was #1 on dial MTV forever.
I also remember looking at my brothers cassette cover for appetite.

Thanks for posting this. There is also a link for the mp3 version of the concert listed on the Youtube page.
I took my son and it was his first concert. He loved it and thanks to technology, we'll be able to relive it anytime we want.
