I’d been a Metallica fan for a long time before the release of St. Anger. They were metal gods and could do no wrong in my eyes. I bought the album the morning it was released and rushed home to listen to it. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. I didn’t like it. I nearly convinced myself something was wrong with my CD player, if not my ears. But repeated listens made it clear that the album just wasn’t good.

U2 - Songs if Innocence

The free one automatically downloaded on everyone’s iTunes by U2. I tried to listen to it several times and hated it. Not a good introduction to U2 for the iTunes generation.

After Women and Children First and Fair Warning I get it. But if you liked I and II isn't it pretty similar ?

I will say the album w/ Cherone was bad.

Kath died after Chicago XI, but I do get your point. He was already pissed for a few albums at the direction of the band, and likely would have gone off to form his own band at some point soon after.

My vote goes to one of my favorites from back in the day, Emerson, Lake, & Palmer, for their less than stellar album "Love Beach".

I can actually listen to it today with a bit more respect, but probably as much out of nostalgia as Emerson and Lake have passed.

Coldplay - Everything after X&Y. Parachutes and A Rush of Blood to the Head were good albums. X&Y was okay, but a big departure from the first two. Everything after X&Y is trash. I guess I'm an Oldplay fan but not a Coldplay fan.

Radiohead- Pablo Honey
Not very original or memorable (with the exception of Creep) compared to the rest of their albums.

Gorillaz- The Fall
They haven't done anything outstanding since Plastic Beach, but this was their worst album imo.

I always felt it was too poppy sounding (Michael McDonald sang back up vocals on I'll Wait for God's sake.)and Eddie got too obsessed with the synths on it. Other than Hot for Teacher and Panama there isn't anything on it that reminds me of their first four albums.

The U2 record Ramblin Wreck mentioned was remarkably unremarkable. What made matters worse was the strong pedophilia vibes the cover art gives off.

The album they did with John Corabi is a fantastic record.
