John Sykes was one of the greatest guitarists of that era IMO.

I coincidentally was reminded of him a few days ago and just read up on his wiki and listened to some music.

Excellent.

most underrated

There's lots of confusion in this thread, as very few actually offered real answers. The following are NOT under-rated - they are vastly, properly rated!

quote:

Scorpions - Still Loving You

quote:

Skid Row - I Remember You

quote:

Guns N' Roses - Estranged

quote:

White Lion - When the Children Cry

quote:

Scorpions - Wind of Change

quote:

Saigon Kick - Love Is on the Way

quote:

Cinderella - Don't Know What You Got (Till It's Gone)

quote:

Whitesnake - Here I Go Again

Now, here were the legit answers given:

quote:

Blue Murder - Out of Love

quote:

Great White - House of Broken Love

quote:

Krokus - Screaming in the Night
Excellent answer!

quote:

Twisted Sister - The Price
Excellent answer!

And here are mine:

Warrant - I Saw Red - Possibly my favorite power ballad ever.

Great White - The Angel Song

Skid Row - Wasted Time, In a Darkened Room, Quicksand Jesus

Scorpions - Under the Same Sun

And for the person who put Bruce Dickinson (Gates of Urizen), I don't know if I'd call that a power ballad. But Tears of the Dragon certainly is.

Is this considered a "power ballad"?
....it's a great, underrated song whether it is or is not.

Hmmm, possibly but I really don't get 80's hair band power ballad vibes from Big Head Todd.

I'm going to break my own rule in this very thread. Although I don't think this song is truly underrated, it is still a bit buried in Poison's overall catalogue. And since Poison gets way too much hate on this board, here you go: the greatest monster ballad of all time.

Youtube Link

I would also add Life Goes On. It had a video and everything, but it wasn't that big.
