Rolling Stones - Waiting on a Friend
Rolling Stones - Harlem Shuffle

Obviously a legendary band and these 2 were hits but they've gotten little airplay at all since their hey day.

Does Six Months in a Leaky Boat get airplay now?

Split Enz in general doesn't get much airplay. Lots of good songs though.

Jackson Browne - "For America" is another one by him.

That album is really good

Speaking of Robert Plant, the solo hit that I most closely associate him with is "Big Log". It's the one solo song of his that gets a ton of radio play even to this day.

I love where you are coming from with the Peter Cetera love but the songs you list were pretty big hits. The great Peter Cetera song that fits the criteria of this thread as far as a great song that got lost in the shuffle of bigger commercial hits is "What one good women can do" which might be Peter Cetera's best solo song even though it wasn't his biggest solo hit because of Karate Kid 2.

That song always has shades of Freddie Mercury/Queen to me

Katrina and the Waves - Going Down to Liverpool

The Bangles did a version of this, too... this is the original and definitive version... Kimberley Rew's guitar is unmistakeable...

Kirsty MacColl (w/Billy Bragg) - A New Enland

The alternate recording of this Billy Bragg tune...

Just heard another song I had almost forgot about:

Cindy Lauper's 1989 version of "I Drove All Night".

Speaking of Cyndi Lauper, she did a good cover of this 1980 tune...

The Brains - Money Changes Everything

good pop tune... should have been a hit for them...

Kim Mitchell- Go For a Soda

this was off an old Miami Vice episode in Season 2. I think it was the one where Crockett becomes the godfather of his buddy's kid.

Dandy, I bet it kills you that the English are far superior to the Spanish, in the art of Rock 'n Roll...

I love Madness, especially Michael Caine

But I wouldn't consider House of Fun a lost hit in America.

Nobody really knows that song in America
Now maybe if we were on a UK message board and we were talking about lost hits of the 80's

The only songs by Madness with any American airplay from back in the day were
Our House
One step Beyound
and
It must be love
