Steel Wheels and Voodoo Lounge had a few good tunes. Nothing can touch Sticky Fingers or Exile.

I read a review from a long-time music critic who's dismissed the Stones' new music (as most of us have) for decades now and just recognized them as an old-time, all-time great rock band and nothing more. However, he was surprised and impressed with the new album, prompting me to give it a listen.
I've gone through it twice now and do enjoy it. Sweet Sounds of Heaven is the gem, but many of the songs, although simple, are definitely better than I expected from 79/80 year old rockers. On first listen I thought it might be produced by Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys as it has that sound about it, but turns out it's Don Was and Andrew Watt, which turns out to be a great mix of old and new.
Worth a listen.

100% agree. I think it's great. The best thing about it is most of the songs represent the different genres over the years. Straight up rock, ballads, discoish, blues, countryish. It's got it all.

I have to agree, as much as as I hesitated to do since Charlie isn't there.
This is a damn good album.

Love the album. Had my doubts, that it might be rushed and one last cash grab. Totally wrong, this is really good stuff. Creative, true to their blues based rock, and loaded with energy. Keith's vocal was excellent - like Charlie once said, "the music loves Keith"

Heard Bite My Head Off on my run this morning and at first I was like who is this new band with a crazy rockin riff and song, then heard Mick's vocals and thought it must have been an older Stones song that I missed somehow. Nope, brand new song. Feels like a punk rock song from the late 70s.
How come these old dudes are still full of piss and vinegar and sound better than most of newer rock bands today?

How many down votes will I receive for admitting Emotional Rescue and Undercover of the Night are two of my fav Stones tunes?
I mean I love all the Mick Taylor-era tunes; but these two are some of my favs.
