Ace is sloppy but I’ve heard this said about him. He might not have changed the way people play guitar, but he influenced a lot of them to pick one up and learn to play.

I would say those two since they are currently active in doing shows. I saw BS in Huntsville last year and JB in Huntsville this past spring. Strings has the lyrics to match. I think BS has yet to reach his prime.

Pertrucci can play all of these styles and make originals in all music. He composes music at a level that few musicians understand. Natural raw talent with precision! Undeniably one of the best.

These are interesting, but unproductive discussions.
All people do is name their favorite guitarists.
Because once you are at a certain level, it’s about style and creativity- not talent.
There are thousands of painters that can recreate a Picasso or Monet to the exact brush stroke, but they aren’t creative.
There are lots of guitarists that can mimic Eddie Van Halen note for note, but they can’t write songs.
There are hundreds of guitarists in the world with virtually no discernible differences in their skill level.
All people do is name their favorite guitarists.
Because once you are at a certain level, it’s about style and creativity- not talent.
