ok now we're gettin' some action

How many people do you know who have even heard of The MC5, much less heard them?

How in the hell can anybody describe Chicago as "underrated"?

And what authority is it that rates people? The computers? The human polls?

I got my sleeves rolled up and I'm READY TO RUMBLE

Would J.J. Cale be considered underrated? I know some of his songs that other people cover get played on the radio, but I hardly ever hear him on the radio.

Yeah, I would think so. He wrote a lot of Clapton's best stuff but hardly anybody knows that.

I'd like to also add Lionel Richie

I know he gets decent radio play with the commodores, but I have to say, he never gets muttered much in music circles these days and he's an absolute music hit machine.

I was deployed (kinda, it was the AF) a few times in SWA. The Filipinos that ran the rec center (again, AF) played Richie's greatest hits all the damn time.

I will add Mr. Bungle and to a lesser extent XTC and Squeeze.
