They are Southern rock royalty. Fix your stupid radio station; nothing wrong with ZZ Top.

Sinatra. No comparison.

Elvis was an overrated hack.

This is ZZ Top by a lot for me, although Steely Dan is also great.

This is ridiculous. But I, too, have seen The Big Lebowski.

The Aja album is spectacular.

Though, King of the World is my favorite Dan song.

It's pretty easily Steely Dan for me, personally.

Steely Dan named themselves after an object in that staple of Beat Literature, Naked Lunch by William S. Burroughs. The “Steely Dan” in question was a steam-powered, mechanical dildo.

Hands down Steely Dan. ZZ Top is fun but shallow music. Steely is fabulous and sophisticated

Nothing to do with that movie.

That's because it's apples & oranges. ZZTop = great southern rock; Steely Dan invented jazz rock.

Exactly. You want a little three-piece band to blow the doors off a music venue, then ZZ Top did that for nearly 50 years.

If you want a very clean, musically great recording, then it’s hard to beat Steely Dan.

Both are great musicians, but in vastly different ways.
