That franchise is fricked six ways from Sunday since they can’t tank, LeBron will want to blow their 27 and 29 picks to get more guys, and Jeannie Buss wants to get out of the luxury tax.
They need to figure out what they want to do and they’re going to end up biting a bullet one way or another.

Seems like Klutch overplayed their influence and the Lakers finally realized they were fricked

This is what happens when stupid people think they are really smart.
Now am I referring to Klutch or Jeannie Buss?

precisely
the only play they have is trading lebron. They have a chance (at least) with Davis and some legitimate NBA players + picks

I think Davis to the Bulls is their best play

Which is some bullshite. Getting the basketball media to carry that "family business" line for them was the greatest trick the Lakers ever pulled. They act like it the general store and not a top 10 global sports brand.

they’d have to let lebron walk if they did that. Then they’d really bottom out, and won’t have their own lottery picks to show for it

they have plenty of income, but only that. A lot different than most ownership groups

The Lakers are one of like 5 sports franchises in America that prints money. Clay Bennett gets shite on for using the luxury tax as an excuse for ruining Durant/Westbrook/Harden when he's in bumfrick OKC but the Lakers get away with it.

I think Westbrick, Mr Glass, and LeMao are destroying that before the Buss family has a chance.

Yeah you totally reset, because they really haven’t been building around AD, but building around LeBron instead.
The crazy thing about it is you try to get OKC involved. Someone like Lonzo headed to OKC is worth one of the 16 1st rounders they have. Russ returns home as OKC can absorb the money, he takes on a mentorship role, off the bench or something.

Except this isn't a reactive response because they fell off a cliff this year. They lost Caruso because they tried to go cheap on his contract last offseason to knock down the luxury tax bill.

Someone can fact check or let me know if I'm in the right direction here
Lakers salary this season is $162m. Their luxury tax bill is $46m for a total of $206m.
Best I could find online was a pie chart that stated player expenses account for roughly 58% of an NBA teams expenses. I believe that would mean roughly $355 mil total expenses per season.
It looks like before Covid the Lakers were making between $350-400m in revenues per season.
That's cutting it pretty close for a family who doesn't have billions in other sources of income.
But again, those numbers could be way off, just the best I could come up with for a dude with a South Louisiana math education.

Tax is a problem. Repeater tax really gets to be a problem, especially if they aren’t winning.

We've had ongoing discussions about whether brmark is a troll.
I am convinced that he is not. I honestly think that he's autistic. There are some things that he understands very well and is quite intelligent about, and there are others that he is as clueless as a 5-year-old child.

Not trying to pile on cause I typically hate that shite, but BRMark, you have to at some point take an inventory on this subject and recognize how terrible you have done at evaluating Ingram, then step back and realize maybe you need to reset your mental biases toward him and maybe defer to others when judging him.
A little over a year ago you essentially called him maxed out talent wise, argued he was close to the other side of his career peak(all 100% incorrect takes proven incorrect by subsequent evidence), going into the season you argued that Westbrook and Wiggins were not only better players, but would be as good or greater contributors to winning. Again, a dead wrong take that subsequent evidence has unequivocally proven you wrong about.
The common theme in your analysis is both a major misevaluation of BI’s current abilities, his easily identifiable growth potential, an unwillingness to accept his current play for what it is(which is excellent, top 25 in the league) or to properly frame his remaining upside relative to others, which goes hand in hand with a very poor analysis of any number of his peers in the league and the context they exist in.
Randle is the latest in a long line of you undervaluing and misevaluating BI, and relative to other players in the league. Looking to replace BI with objectively lesser players with little to no upside left, especially relative to a guy like BI who has demonstrated incredible season to season growth almost every year. While often in the same breath lobbying for players that are regressing or plateaued(Westbrook, Wiggins, Randle)
Why do you expect this time to be any different?
