You’re acting like Ainge won’t have a great plan to put a super competitive team around him. He will bet on an elite organization and himself.
If he can build a super competitive team for next season, by default, that likely means the Pels will have gotten a return that leaves us Pels fans very disappointed.

Do you think they sign Durant, kawhi or Klay ?

Otherwise it doesn’t matter

I’m not going to bother listing possibilities as they aren’t in your only 3 that matter.

Ainge sees it that way of reports are to be believed.

I have always thought Ainge wants to maintain interest publicly just in case. If Kyrie bolts there is a huge wrench in his plan.

He will have to have traded for him before Kyrie leaves so...

He will be whether the deal is great or not. He can’t let this drag on.

If he doesn’t get a solid deal, Griffin will drag this out.

Although Durant going down absolutely shakes things up. I really wonder what that potentially does to the Davis market.

I mean it’s definitely going to have far reaching effects.

All these teams with max slots open to recruit multiple superstars are going to get REALLY desperate at this rate because the supply of stars is dropping for various reasons.

I'd rather get the Celtic's best offer than the Lakers, but as long as the Celtics stay in the game and push the Lakers, we should get a good enough return to lay a good foundation for Zion. As you mention Ainge has plenty of his own reasons to stay in the game even if only for appearances. Even if he didn't I could see him doing it to help an old friend in Griffin and screw an old enemy in the Lakers. Not to mention AD to the Lakers makes Kyrie to the Knicks less likely.

Tatum, Smart, picks, filler and tanking is better than anyone else can offer. Tough pill to swallow, but you'll come around. Ending up with Zion and Tatum within months of AD demanding a trade from a lottery team with no future is an unprecedentedly fast glow-up IMO.
