I don't really want Ayton or his salary. Not a big fan of Sharpe either.

We'd now have a glut of shoot-first Guards and even worse on D.

Plus a chronic underachiever in Ayton.

I'd much prefer the Charlotte package.

Would that be enough for Suns to trade Ayton though?

I don't know if Ayton is that positive of a value right now so 3 major pieces would be a great return.

I think the issue would be more fit, especially Rozier (unless he's a bench guy only).

Beal, Booker, Jones, KD I guess could work for a 1-4 b/c Booker and KD will be doing the majority of playmaking regardless.

People would have a much different view of Ayton if he was allowed to be more of a lead guy.

But there is always the concern that he was just playing hard enough to get the 2nd contract, which have been rumors since he was a prospect.

As far as Ayton I would pretty much immediately turn around and offer him to Indiana for Turner and one of their late 1sts if i don’t think he can help me.

A motivated Ayton is literally what we need from the 5

But I don't know if this team could rise to title contender unless Sharpe and Scoot really are those guys.

Ayton
Trey
Ingram
CJ
Scoot

That's a mix of shooting levels and playmaking. Defense becomes a major concern, though (even with a hypothetically motivated Ayton anchoring things).

Yeah, my concern with Ayton would be if Monty hates him then Willie would too.

Assuming Ayton hasn't checked out (which I do believe because he's angry and if he was truly checked out he wouldn't care and would just cash checks), I think more shots is what he wants. Pre-CP3 he was projecting to a 22+ ppg guy and took a back seat (that got further back when they got KD).

Yeah....

will be interesting though.

Think its a win all around for Zion to be moved (Pels, NBA, Zion)

Only chance that team has of winning a title is if Scoot is an MVP level.

I kinda doubt he is.

I’m only trading Zion if i have a plan to get the next MVP and that’s banking kn charlotte continuing to suck and imploding because Zion doesn’t change.

So we need their picks and swaps.

The team you just referenced is not a title winner.

He's not a lead guy. That's the problem with him and his massive contract.
He's a really good offensive center, but he's not Embiid/Jokic level good, but he's getting paid like it. On top of that, he's not even a good defender as he is just an average rim protector at best.

Lauri Markannen, according to rim protecting stats, is a much better rim protector than Ayton. Now i'd bet that he's up there more so b/c he plays next to Kessler, who is also high up on the list, but regardless, i'd much rather Markannen than Ayton, and i'd give up a lot more for him.
I'd rather give up 4 1sts and go get Markennen, if that is even a possibility.

I just finally listened to it. The exact quote and the way they just glossed right over it, I don't think Simmons was saying that as a sourced comment, but more of just what someone who is connected thinks will happen.

You might as well say you’re not trading Zion, which is fine, but the only way to get a “replacement” MVP is to draft him, which means getting lucky in the right draft.

May get downvoted to hell but sorry I’d still take my chances on Zion’s dominance over Scoot. I’d take the chance that he eventually gets it and figured his shite out because Scoot isn’t on the same planet as Zion.

Agreed. If Zion has a meeting with Griffin about wanting a trade. Then we trade him. But if he wants to stay, we should keep him. He makes the whole team better when he plays.

Has Simmons ever been a news breaker?

He had LeBron to LA before anyone else. But, like most of his predictions, that one was more him connecting dots instead of relying on sources, so this is different.

I’m seeing Sharpe mentioned

No way in hell Portland moves Sharpe imo

They love the kid and all the questions about his character and game translating have been debunked. He’s arguably the most explosive athlete in the nba, has off the dribble game, can already shoot the 3, and showed effort and want on defense.

If there was a redraft of 2022, he’d probably go top 2 or 3. He’s probably untouchable from Portland’s standpoint.

Then they might as well trade Dame, because any team will want Sharpe along with 3 for an all star level player
