Can't happen with the Pelicans since his QO is much higher. Either we kept him another year at the QO rate or sign him to a longer contract worth more than his QO. Those options were off the table. And once we declined his QO, he would never returned at a lower rate. He was going to go where he wanted to go and that was LA.

That’s right …. Pels chose to pay Herb (right decision) that put the nail in the QO. Still would have paid the QO as the team is still over the cap and could have used the salary in a trade.

The issue with Jaxson was not talent.
My thought would be to sign Bol as a compliment to Zeller, essentially replacing Willie & Jaxson. As you say, simply try to get some use out of Bol for what he’s good at while at the same time trying to develop his other tools.

I mean he took less per year with LAL. They're both low end money so it's not like either contract was a make or break. I just can't think of any reason I'd rather have an old beat up Zeller who's low ceiling is way in the past over a young, healthy Jaxson that could still get better.
Either way, I'm going to be rooting for Zeller and rooting against Jax since he went to the enemy. But, I'd have rather kept Jaxson.

If Zeller starts getting major minutes on this team, there is a serious problem. Seriously were better options out there but whatever. In the end, we’re running the same team back and praying they stay healthy- even though the last 4 years they haven’t.
