Boogie wanted $100 million for 3 years with player option.
Rondo was offered $17 million (I’m assuming for 2 years).
Straight from Uncle Al’s mouth at the airport.

He bet on himself. He’ll get a ring with warriors but lost tons of money

That 3/100 number was early in the process. The last proposal his agent gave to us before communication broke off was 2/45. Dell held firm to 1 year with incentives with a team option for the 2nd.

The two sides never spoke again

Kinda surprised Dell did not buckle at 2/$45.

The difference between the cap and the taxpayer line, combined with tha play of Niko, may have made that decision easier.

We were looking at the tax line last year and then going into the repeater tax this year. (I believe $125m is the tax line this year)

Boogie going bye bye has pulled us back from the brink of the tax at least temporarily. We still need to turn Solo’s contract into something more usable but we aren’t locked hard into four players at the tax line like if we’d resigned Boogie.

Further proves that Dell and the FO went above and beyond for Boogie. A major overpay & still a major risk for that much, but that money says ‘we believe in you.’

Has Boogie's foot ever been hurt? Never heard that one.

The other thing they didn't like? What they heard from other players in their exit interviews when they were asked whether they should bring Boogie back.

There was not one player or coach in that locker room that were dying to have him back. At best, there were some people who didn't care either way. At best.

Even Davis? That is interesting.

Although it makes sense. If Davis told them "Bring him back", they would have offered him enough to bring him back.

So when do you anticipate the next moves, as small as they will probably be, to go down?

I'm assuming the team is waiting out players that are still hoping a market will develop for them, that doesn't.

So sometime next week seems like a good bet.

With the 76ers now having 17 players under contract, McConnell could come free (as his contract in not guaranteed).

Dell can't control the next moves. It will all come down to players and teams facing reality. Guys who will eventually settle for the min still think they can get more than the min right now. Teams who Dell is trying to convince to throw a player into his exemption slot still think they have other opportunities.

Look at how late in the offseason Dell swung the original Robin Lopez trade. Ian Clark didn't sign last year until July 31st.

Fans need NOW. Dell doesn't necessarily. Go enjoy the summer league games. More moves will be made before training camp opens. They don't need to happen this week. Or even next week.

Consider how the team played post-Boogie with Niko in his spot and whether Cousins ever recovers from this injury.

They still had to trade for Niko to replace him but they found their footing and still made it to the second round of the playoffs.

Rondo was probably considered a more essential re-sign than Cousins it only because Playoff Rondo was a big part of sweeping the Blazers.

I'm more that happy with what we've acquired so far and I know Dell is working away feverishly in the background

Real g's move in silence or whatever the quote is
